I hold in my hand the power to end life. Whether my own or another's.
The fact that this small chunk of metal, crafted by men, has such a presence . . . such an aura of power . . .is fascinating.
With a simple twitch of my finger, I could make something cease to exist.
That's a hell of a notion if you ask me.

so why do you have them if you don't use them ?? or at least see their positive use ??
and how saying I am over it, is any answer to it
I mean when you keep them, so you can at least admit that shooting oneself in the head could be a positive thing !

Think of yourself as a snake... you can swallow your tail, but never truly undo yourself..
-------------------- And thus begins the reverse-fusing of our one-dimentional understanding, and adds ever-expanding perspectives, in depth and number; splitting our perception, and in so doing, seemingly irrationally, creates yet more one-ness, with all that ever was, is and will ever be, streching across the infinite, inunderstood concept of everything, percievable and not.

Why do I keep them around?
Well, My .22's, 410's and .30-30 are for sporting purposes.
My handguns are mainly for self-defense.

it is not about killing oneself but about killing the force
the more you quit being through others and powers control the more you are alone and the more it is right since true constant thing, you don't have to do anything as you are existing truly .. just to stay real whatever that could mean
this easy way of possessing everyone beings by force must stop in some way or another ..

Mmm yeah the power than guns hold is mystical, The fact that you can take someones life in a millisecond is amazing. There entire childhood, eduction, loves, laughs, memories, personality and future, gone in a flash because you choose to pull the trigger, truly astounding.

it says how we cannot be existing.. while we are conscious beings so existence must be wrong .. which prove how all are evil entities wills in power over wrong existence means
still, when you kill someone the depth of its will is not dead .. so what I meant is different
I mean the constant sense of being positive should change when knowing that all are evil powerful entities like gods taking advantage of that, so they are constantly more abusing the fact known to stay forever living through worse ways in forcing conscious states to be their existence in any form and means
so acknowledging that existence is negative, should justify conscious suicides more like being positively present right by refusing to be a body of gods or a slave body to evil powers anyways
maybe through repetitive suicides, something out freedom will move to kill those gods and force them down to hell where satan would be their master, since he is their body all like as an existing matter of wrong beings ends

Not really. Guns are not special. In Roman times a sword or bow would have been just as lethal. And I think the same could be said now about an automobile.

I had a friend (a gun owner) a long time ago that got in trouble with The Law and was emotionally distraught. He confided in me that he either wanted to shoot himself or open up an automatic weapon on a crowd. He never once mentioned shooting a burglar.
I have known of three people somewhat close to me killed by guns.
1. A cop, a neighbor and the father of my babysitter when I was a pre-teen, who ate his gun during a depression.
2. My ex-fiancé's sister was going through a divorce. Her estranged hubby shot her point blank with a deer rifle (just used for hunting) at a 7/11.
3. Friends/neighbors (husband and wife) were shot to death by their son 4 years ago three houses down from me.
Not much familial protection or shooting of bad guys going on that I have witnessed.

What about the statistical probabilities that you could shoot yourself with your own gun? Or get drunk and maybe shoot someone?

agree about the cars, but what you gonna do? Almost have to drive in this country if you want any mileage
As far as guns and the inherent danger in them, I do believe they enable violence more than other weapons (takes a lot more balls to attack someone with a knife) but at the same time I'm not objected to violence. It is what it is, as little as I'd like to be shot or stabbed, and as much as it sucks to lose a few teeth in a street fight.

My own thoughts have been mainly

The fact that this small chunk of metal, crafted by men, has such a presence . . . such an aura of power . . .is fascinating.

That's a hell of a notion if you ask me.
When a friend of mine got back from Iraq he said almost these exact words, he had killed someone in self defense (as that goes in a war). Knowing him well and seeing what that did to him psychologically was an episode, then there's the matter of the actual dead man.
Very strange, and this quote almost word for word what he said to me.

I've thought this too before. I wonder if in the future someone will invent an even more powerful weapon that can kill someone just by thought alone. If so, the human race is screwed.

You could say the same thing while holding a knife. Its just easier to kill with a pistol. Just point and squeeze. With a knife you really need to put effort into it, its much more up close and personal.
