Yeah I had a jar that no amount of shaking would dislodge the agar wedge from the lid. Tried for like 5min. Just turned it upside down till it colonized some grains, then reshook later.
I still like shaking agar inoculated jar, I try and get the wedge right in the middle of the grain jar. Normally it ends up stuck to the side though.....

Use a glove box and take them off the glass.

yea, RR dogma is not to shake but let the agar grow off as recovery and to see any contams. But if it contams it contams anyway so if it's clean doesn't the shake help.

I have like 5-10 small wedges in each master and i think only 1 jar has 2 wedges jammed up against the lid. I literally shook the shit out of the jar so much the shells from the grains are all over the sides of the jar. Ill leave it as is and hope its just like any other grains that get stuck up on the lid. They colonize fine and when i spawn i just scrape the shit off the lid into the trash. Thanks a bunch guys. I think im going to start using large wedges rather then a bunch of small ones

each wedge you put in a jar is a chance for a contam, I would do one quick and swift wedge into the jar.
