Noob wants to clone

Hey, I've got some cakes doing some awesome things right now, and I would like to have a first successful attempt at cloning them. I have tried to spore print twice with no success. I WOULD try again, accept these drop no spores! Nothing to collect... It seems like cloning using living tissue would be a relatively easy transition; if someone had any up to date TEK/ ideas on that, I'd be stoked. I have made 1 or 2 successful LC's using MS, but it seems people are not into LC on this site. Agar seems cool, but out of my price range for purchasing supplies/equipment at this time. Would transferring fresh fruit to sterile grain be an easy learning curve? I have only ever really been successful with cakes, though have gotten WBS and corn to colonize and fruit in vitro. Thanks.

search no more. Works great. I"m doing it now
Don't count LC out man...you should try every possible way of cultivation that strikes your interest. We're all different, and you may love LC. I did a half ass job on my LC, just to try it, and it turned out great so far.
Do it all man, pick what you love and master that shit.

He is saying, if im correct. That if you wish to freshly pick a fruit. then cut off a wedge from the stipe and drop it directly into a Rye/WBS grain jar, or any jar to colonize for that matter, ive read that you are about 80% of chance to get trich/contams.
you want to transfer to agar plates and then do a few sector transfers to create stronger/specifc/individual growth, and ensure a "clean" isolate. And by clean i mean most spore syringes and shit can have trich or anytype of bacteria dormant inside its beautiful liquids :/ So when you do some transfers to get singled out isolates. Its guarnteed clean colonization unless another outside source that straight fucks your jars at night sideways while pulling their hair and calling them sally, then leaves during the day. Not only to see the damage in the morning and cry yourself back to sleep. aka trichoderma...

Well Caspuuur I don't like those odds at all! So when I get MS syringes from a vendor, utilize sterile technique to a T, using the same methods and variables that have always granted me success; and then get ten jars that smell like cottage cheese within days of inoculation and don't germinate or show trich or green penicilin within the 7-10 day window, IT COULD be the vendors fault??!! There are nasty things in his MS syringes that I'm paying 12-20 bucks for??!! Fuck that, now I'm just mad! GRRRRRR!!!

Yes, sometimes there are nasties...but if you get one decent mush out of it, you print and clone the fucker. Never need another vendor again.
I used 3.5 g of honey, and 96g of water, swirled it around, PC'd it, and when it cooled, i red hot fucked a sterilized syringe, stuck it through the stem of a sweet ass fruit, (after swabbing the entire area with alcohol wipe), and shot the little tiny piece from the syringe into the honey LC. All done in a SAB. SOme time later i got a good blob of myc. Shook it up, and sucked up some of it with a syringe i PC'd. Aces. ONe drop on the BRF sub and myc is growing great. Again, all done in a SAB.
I use Bobs BRF and its working for me...even used it for my agar substitute.

^^that's a cloned piece of my first fruit, from my first cake on my first grow.

Agar is cheap if you can find it at a asian grocery store. I just bought 5 25g packets today for $6 with tax. That's 125g of agar enough to make a little over 5 liters or ~1.2 gallons of agar.

I don't thinks the mods mind if it's constructive man...after all, that's why we're here. Just use the search function, and do a little reading. If you have any questions, post them in this thread. Most of the people that pop in to help will follow along, and guide you as best they can. You'll be running along in no time

You can get it fairly cheap online too. Looking on Ebay right now there's a 500g bag for about $30.

Right on guys...seems cheap, I was always under the impression that you needed other organic mediums too, like dextrose, malt extract, etc. I see Teks for plates using more than one store bought ingredient, so I wonder. And could I get plates/slants in town anywhere or just online? Or use half pint jars or similar like 1down5up does for his BRF goo?

No PP stands for pasty plates... No PP is polypropylene. just look on the bottom should say PP5.
