How well will a PF Cake fruit if you just open the lid on the jar?

I actually assumed I'd find alot of information with the search feature... but I didn't.
I have some jars that ended up with a little trich in the bottoms of them, though its pretty much colonized and starting to pin at the top near the verm later. I wrote the jars off and was just going to toss them, but since they are pinning I was going to see if I couldn't steal a few shrooms off it. Which got me thinking, if the myc is kept in humid conditions in the jar and misted on top, how well do fruit do without humidity?

The verm layer holds contams, so i think you're swimming up stream on this one man. I'd just toss'em and take the lesson.
But, if you wanted to do it, hang out and read for a bit and someone will prob come along and let you know if it's possible...

I've seen some threads about it, but it always involved wider plastic containers.
Anyways, from what I saw you would take it out dunk it as usual, etc, but instead of rolling in verm they put it back into the jar it was in and placed verm on top, then after each flush they poured water on to the cake to soak up as opposed to dunking again.
Seemed to be outdated and less successful then the SGFC method.

Well, I could toss them, but I isolated them to a place that can get as contaminated as it wants because I don't care and ever plan to do anything there.
And I didn't want to pull them out and put them back in because of the trich at the bottom.
I had three jars, I just opened, cleared the verm layer on them. On one of them I filled up the jar to over the verm layer and will let it soak for a while. The other two that had bigger pins at the top I just filled it up with water for a min and drained it off and cleared a little room between the cake and jar to allow for mushroom growth through the top.
As I said I already wrote these off, so I'm kind of just doing this for the hell of it. I guess I'll see what happens!

I would just bury the cakes outside and them fruit out there. Even if it's cold out right now you may find some mushrooms growing there in spring or summer.

It's contaminated you don't want that in open fruiting around your house.

My first plan was to bury it outside.... but that night it got to -1F, so eventually I do plan on burying it, I'm just waiting till this freeze clears up some.
Again, I do appreciate the tips to avoid contams. I have these open FAR from my fruiting area, even my house, even my property. So I don't care how contaminated it might get where they are as I never plan to do anything there again.
