ID Request...very confused...(Calostoma lutescens?)
    #19399129 - 01/10/14 01:32 PM (10 years, 20 days ago)

So, it has been very cold here the last 4 days... dipped BELOW 0 degrees two nights in a row, rained all day yesterday and last night. Back to the high 30's now. I found two mushrooms I've never seen before this morning in some Pine woods with hardwood mixed in. Found these in a water run off, covered in pine needles, growing right from the dirt. It was darker dirt, not clay.
15cm tall - 3.5cm wide at the base(base was much wider) - Cap was 2cm tall & 1.5cm wide - puffed Yellow spores. Could it be a Stinkhorn of some kind??

Sorry about the quality... i finally got my camera out there and it was freezing and raining... but thank you for any help possible. I kept two of them for my collection, in case i left anything out that is needed. Thanks!!

You're welcome.

You should also post your find on mushroomobserver.org, where you'll stand a good
chance to get closer to species.

Actually, im pretty positive it is Calostoma lutescens because of the length of the stipe and the pale yellow "collar" at the base of the spore case.
