squatting in the winter

In northern Appalachia it is easy to survive in the summer by bathing in rivers, walking in warm weather, easy shelter, and fire.
But suppose during the winter time you wanted to live in a cabin like area without running water. How would you bathe?
I don't mind getting dirty, but my face tends to break out because I have rosacea and without a shower a day I get bad breakouts which are very irritating.
Usually in order to keep my rosacea at bay I have to clean my entire head. That is, if I just clean my face but not my hair then I will still have breakouts.
Any ideas? Experiences with bathing in the cold?

I guess I could plunk my head into a pot of warm water and clean it that way.

Yep
If you can heat water you can comfortably sponge bathe as needed.

I would just sponge bath, that is a superb idea for those squatting breakouts.

If you don't bathe for a while, your skin gets used to the new conditions. I know its a gross thought, but a few summers ago I went on a wilderness course for a month and didn't wash myself much...
I jumped in a lake ONCE and cleaned my face with a bit of biodegradable soap; that shit's the bomb. It sounds gross but your body can handle a lot!

Yeah, on track with this, I stopped washing my hair a long time ago. I don't think any type of soap or shampoo has even touched it for ~8 months. It is not greasy at all and just feels nice and natural, also apparently doesn't smell and I have been given compliments on it (sometimes by other males which makes it slightly awkward).
The first month or so it was oily but it balanced out nicely and doesn't have the weird brittle poofed feeling that just-washed hair has (in my opinion)
I've heard it's also the exact same thing with skin. Your skin learns to balance itself around being washed all the time and over-produces oil to keep moist. If you leave it alone it should figure what is normal and stay that way.

Even for people with rosacea? After a shower I use petroleum jelly so that my face does not dry out.
In boot camp we did not use lotions for a while and my face broke out like a bastard. It turned red, white skin flakes were feathering off, and it itched like a bitch.
Although I think a pot of water and some petroleum jelly would do me just fine.
Below is an example I found on google. I didn't get it that bad because eventually they gave us some low grade lotions to use in boot. But now I find that petroleum jelly is the only one that moisturizes my face enough.
It's kind of a conflicting thing. I want to be able to live free, and I am capable I think, but I would hate to be walking around with an itchy and red face. Especially when I am single.
It's a conundrum.

Carry petroleum jelly, sponge bathe your face.
Kind of sucks carrying the extra water, but I don't know what other answer you could be expecting

These work good too, and no need for water and all that, also helpful if you get a cut or after taking a crap.

i wouldn't bathe for days or up to a week until it became too much then i'd use the college showers or sneak into some other facility like a gym
college campuses usually have showers just follow someone in and dress like a student

Die of dehydration probably, water is heavy 8lbs a gallon. Personally I just don't take showers often if living off a pack, going to be living off either a van or motorcycle relatively soon so will do birdbaths at that rate.
Chemical wipes, gross, maybe better than those rashes though

Boil a pan of water and mix it with a larger bucket of cool water and soap for a "whore's bath". All you need is a fire, a pot and a bucket.
