Colonization procedure for my mycobox -HELP?

Hey all, I have a couple of questions being an ignorant noob and all Ok, so today I received a free mycobox that requres some more colonization time. I received it with false instructions, saying I gotta open the lid as I receive the box and dunk it in water for 12 hours. Then to pour out the water and put the box in a mycobag (both with their own filters). Of course, I figured I should wait until full colonization and then follow these instructions.
However, I have some questions regarding the colonization techniques. I read like dosens of pages about the right temperatures/humidity levels and all that stuff. I see that these vary according to the technique (I guess mine is not pf but casing? Pictures below). So... at what temperature should I leave that box? Where do I put it to get enough humidity? I read on one side that more than 70% humidity is bad... and then somewhere else read I should acquire like 90-95%. What is it? One instruction said I should put the jars/boxes/whatever in two tubs, one on top of another, the bottom one having a heater in a standing water set on 27 degrees celsuim (cca 80F). But then I read somewhere standing water is bad. Ok, next possible container would be a monotub. But I don't have that coz it's nearly impossible for me to get polyfil in my country. I have a shoutgun though. But now I'm afraid that my humidity levels are too high and that the temp is not right. Any suggestions as to where I store my box to get all the preferences right?
Ok, another question. As you can see, there is a layer on top of the cake. Should I scrape it off after dunking or leave it there?

First off i will say that kits are a waste of money. You can do it all yourself for so much cheaper and it's really not that difficult.
Humidity doesn't matter during colonization they're completely closed except for gas exchange. Also more than 70% humidity is not bad. More humidity is better.
Just set it on a shelf in room temp.
Use the shotgun.
That layer on top is a casing layer made of vermiculite. Just leave it on.

Over your fridge in the cabinet or directly on top of your fridge stays a nice warm temperature but room temperature works.. You'll wanna fruit at ten degrees cooler so it's easier if you can keep the temps a little warmer durin colonization. Still a noob just what I read.

I put it into a transparent mycobag and sprayed the walls a bit to get some humidity there. I put the whole thing on the fridge keepin a steady 24 degrees.. it doesn't get higher than that. It's near the window so there should be enough light. Hopefully I did it right. Thank you for your help...

I thought you were waiting for it to finish colonizing?

Yes, of course... gotta wait. I didn't open up the lid of the box, if that's what you mean.

Oh ok i see what you're saying now and there's really no point in putting the colonizing tub in a bag and spraying the inside of that bag. It will not increase the humidity inside the tub. Also as i stated before there is no need to worry about humidity during colonization. The humidity is already inside the enclosed tub. It is seperate from the outside air and is only receiving gas exchange not fresh air exchange.

yeah you don't really need the bag yet or the light.. when you start fruiting put em somewhere cooler and thats when they'll need the light. I've seen people just throw em in a black trash bag during colonization or keep them in cabinets this may be to keep them out of the light so it doesn't prematurely fruit IDK maybe someone else can chime in with more info into the exacts of light effects

Light on a 12/12 schedule is actually beneficial during all stages (indirect during colonization and direct during fruiting). This helps develop a circadian rhythm just like we have. Also don't even bother with fruiting it in that bag. Just fruit it in the SCFG. You already have it built and it would be much better than fruiting in that bag

Thanx for that, I figured light is good. Gotta imitate the natural habitat, right? Shrooms don't cover themselves in a black bag in nature lol. Yep, I'm gonna fruit it in shotgun of course... why else would I be drilling those holes for 2 hours
