One of the blue Stropharia species, Stropharia cyanea or something similar.

Yep, the blue tones will fade in maturity and leave it more or less straw-colored with a few weakly blue-ish patches.

I believe the differences between these two are difficult to point out in young specimens, judging from the descriptions. Stipe length and gill edges providing the main ones, in addition to different spore sizes.
It also says they are most frequently found in deciduous woodlands - I've only ever found them in fields, like OP, when hunting Psilocybes.
(To add confusion, Species Fungorum lists S. caerulea and S. cyanea as being two different species, no apparent synonymy listed.)
I think OP and everyone else finding these should take more pictures and keep specimens for study. They are too cool looking to be overlooked, imo.

Im a bit of a late starter to this forum thing, sorry lol... im no dinosaur but this is my first forum site.... I would have loved to take more piccys for you's but i wasnt as interested in shrooms before this year!! I found this just hiding in the long grass of a pretty large hill on the Welsh border... thought i looked quite alien... the reason i posted was because i had searched the net for "Little blue mushroom"... how vague i was hah... but couldnt find an exact match on web pics, so thought i could have stumbled across an unamed species... cheers folks, i have another i found, although not a typical mushroom, but deffo a fungus that i also cant find.... if i post it here will i come under fire from the forum nazi's?

No offense taken, you might find stuff like that in some of the other shroomery forums, but the identification forum is generally a pretty friendly place.

Your knowledge of trees, shrubs and plants is very valuable when taking the step into the funga as many species have close relations with the former.
