mycelium potency

Ive tripped pretty hard in the past off of just one colonized 1/2 pint brf cake made into tea. However, those cakes had been around for a while, had sat in their jars for a few weeks after full colonization. Now, Ive got some that just finished colonizing, and I'm willing to sacrifice them for the joy of doing a trip right now. But... Is it absolutely cold, hard, throbbing unyeilding fact that this 'fresher' mycelieum will have less psilocybin than a cake left colonized in its jar for a couple more weeks? I dont want to waste any cakes here.

Just to clarify, I'm not asking what the most efficient, logical thing to do with my cakes is. Im simply asking if fresh, new mycelium is significantly lower in hallucinogenic compounds than older mycelium.

I'd rather eat a 'shroom than a damn rice cake. Yeeck. It's called the Shroomery, man, not the "RiceCakeOomery". Go figure. Oh, God, once again, my head hurts. Ooh!
'Shroom on.

He wasn't asking IF he would trip or not. He said he's done it before. Why are you guys so against tripping off of mycelium? It IS possible and you don't necessarily have to eat the cake. For fucks sake, there's even a tek on the shroomery that tells you how to do it. You break up all they mycelium into an orange juice slurry and then strain out the verm. I just don't understand all the predjudice against eating mycelium.
As, for your question, I'm not sure. But aborts have just as much, or more psylocybin content per gram than fruits, so I would imagine that immature mycelium has a decent amount of the good stuff in it, but this is just a guess. Not many people around here are into eating cakes so you may not get a concrete answer.

Are there people too impatient to wait for mushrooms to grow? If you need it ASAP maybe your doing mushrooms for the wrong reason. Also why sacrifice a perfectly fruitable cake. If you want to trip, eat the mushrooms. Wait now and get a lot more psylocybin later, or not wait and not get any psylocybin later.

When I used to do pf jars I usually had a few left over that wouldn't fit in my terrarium. I threw them into an outdoor patch, but I see no reason not to eat it if you just have an extra cake or two to fuck around with.

If all you want is to trip off the mycelium, why not grow some using a honey tek and just drink it down?

Well since you waited a few weeks last time before you made tea out the cake, why not experiment. Eat now newly colonized, and then eat the other one when its older.
