Mycelium jump from milk crate to monotub

I've decided to try another experiment with the lime bath technique. Somewhere in this forum, it was not recommended to use lime bath tech. on woodchips but I couldn't find the reason why. So I went ahead and did a mycelium jump from my modified laundry basket technique to woodchips monotub even before the basket starts its first flush. To prepare the woodchips, I soaked them in lime bath with pH of higher than 8 for three days. And here are the result so far.

Would someone please ID the circled mushroom? Is it poisonous? Should I pull it out? I'm expecting Blue Oysters to sprout, not this skinny looking shroom. :-(

So here's that same lone shroom. I still don't know what it is but I sure don't plan on eating it.

It appears to be a Coprinoid of some sort. Maybe a Bolbitius sp.
Not what you want though.

are those mostly twigs rather than woodchips or is it just the surface?
I'm currently looking for a better source of woodchips. It's kind of hard to get in the middle of a big city.

Those are mixtures of woodchips and twigs I got from the City woodchips dump. I'm trying to find a good way to use them since there are mounds of woodchips in the dump and they are free.

I like your philosophy
Sounds like you just need to get a better pasteurization method down and you should be good! Maybe try heat next time? This one didn't seem to kill the invaders

Hmm, right, they probably do have a dump somewhere. I'll have to look into it. For some reason I always assumed you have to call them up and have them dump a whole truck load at your place which is more than my tiny apartment can handle.
I'm embarrassed to say I've been buying hard wood chips for smoking for my current (tiny) grows. It's been good to work out proper technique though.

No shame in that Can't get wood fuel pellets where you are? (much cheaper)

yeah, I couldn't find it in LA. I think I'll haul a few bags back from my parents home next item I go back. They live in the middle of no where and for some reason their relatively tiny home depot has wood fuel pellets.
