Looking for FC advice.

Great website, I love all the information available.
So I probably made a pretty common beginner mistake and followed the M.M.G.G. terrarium setup guide before researching more. What I'm left with now is a Styrofoam cooler with an ultrasonic humidifier and a few coke bottles hooked up to it containing some dunked and rolled cakes (rolled about 4 days ago). the cakes are continuing to grow mycellium everywhere but no pinning yet. I have like 7 more cakes to dunk and roll in a few days.
My setup is in a closet in my aquarium room so the humidity is around 35% in the room despite it being winter in a high elevation desert. I like the idea of the closet because of space and keeping is discrete.
So i guess im wondering: 1.is it recommended to return the ultrasonic humidifier and start over with a shotgun terrarium or add an air pump and holes to increase FAE? FAE seems to be my main problem.
2. would there be ample fresh air inside of this closet to make the shotgun work? (slightly cramped and cloths hanging around)
3. If i end up building a shotgun terrarium what is the realistic amount of maintenance I'm looking at? maybe keep the ultrasonic on the shotgun on a timer to help with misting? (I like the idea of automation as much as realistically possible)
4. is the fog a sign of a good humidity level or will I need to lower it after pinning starts?
5. is there a way this terrarium could be fancied up a bit to create a pretty automated system if the shotgun wont work?
Thank you so much everyone for reading.

Thanks for the quick reply tripdawg420. I did read that page a few days ago, but I guess I'm asking if its worth trying to add to what I have already or start over? Any reasoning behind not putting my F.C. in my closet? I guess fresh air, contaminants? Is there any setup that would work in this space? its very helpful to have reasoning behind something rather than a "don't do it".
Thanks again bud.

I ran my SGFC in my closet and it worked very well. I ran a cool mist humidifier in the closet so I wouldn't have to spray as much. Get a 6500k bulb for sure and build the SGFC EXACTLY as specified. Holes on ALL 6 sides. Fan 3-6 times a day, though I had a good flush when I was out of town for your days with no FAE at all. Make sure the thick verm layer on your cakes is facing up. Do not put a heat source in the closet as the convection will dramatically reduce humidity in the SGFC.
Your cakes are probably just fine. The most abused cake I had, which I set aside for three weeks in a milk jug with perlite as I suspected it might be contaminated turned out to be the most fruitful cake once I put it in the SGFC.
Closets are good security. No one should know about your grow, not even your mother or BFF. Period. No bragging = no jail. Keep the closet locked or room locked when away. Lots of good reasons for this.

A humidifier is NOT a replacement for misting the cakes.

So I returned my humidifier and constructed a shotgun terrarium. My arm is sore from drilling 1/4" holes on all six sides of a 105 qt. clear plastic tub. I put 5" of perlite in the bottom after rinsing it well, after that I sprayed the perlite down with 32 oz. of a h2o2 solution.
Just put my cakes in the terrarium on top of foil squares, starting to get a couple mushies growing.
1. do I place my aquarium hood light fixture directly on top or add some spacers?
2. should I be misting the cakes directly or the perlite?
3. So fanning is as simple as waving a bucket lid or something flat over them a bunch to give them some wind for a minute, anything special about it?
4. fan more than misting right?

Not sure where it said to do that in the tek.....
Fruiting is not a sterile process, and putting peroxide on the perlite is just a waste of peroxide IMO.
Tap water works for everyone else just fine.
Mist the cakes directly with a fine mist until they glisten, then fan out the chamber.
Mist again once the water you previously applied has evaporated.
We mist to replace lost moisture in the cakes, we cycle out the humid air in the chamber to make room for evaporation of the waiter we just misted to take place, which is a main pinning trigger.

thanks so much for the info fellas, makes more sense to me now. I heard about the peroxide from a few threads I read and I had it around already thought it couldn't hurt. Im thinking of getting one of those little battery powered hand fans and a pump up mister to save some work. Thanks again.

Idk about a pump mister but I personally love my fan/mister combo. Although I now have to press the battery part in to make the fan part work.
