Yup, they have every season on Netflix. It's pretty sweet!
I remember being like 10 years old when it was airing every Friday, and the music was scaring me

Haha nice nice. I've gone back and watched season 1 the past couple of days. Seasons 8 and 9 were really good. It's almost epic watching the season finale of season 9. The second movie that came out was trash though, I think they need to come back and give us something new - something to end on a good note with

The way they ended the series was so perfect though, it'd be damn near impossible to roll out another movie that gives a real "end" (as in, the events happen after the plot of the original series ended).
The writing in the later series was amazing! Agent Dog-face was a poor addition though. I would've preferred to say a whole different type of character in the male-not-Mulder position

The x-files was always such an inconsistent show. Watching it, I always swore that they had an A team and a B team of writers. Only a handful of episodes out of each season would actually contribute to the real plot-line (alien conspiracy, the government cover-up, etc). Those episodes would always be so bomb, bad ass writing, lots of drama, very gripping.
And then they'd scale back the salaries and send the B team out to shit out an episode about some salesman we could give a fuck less about, and his tatoo which is talking to him, which we could care even less about, and how he fucked Dana Scully, which is, yes, very interesting, but not an event to be touched by the B team. If they had the A team writing the shit, every person watching FOX (the channel, not Mulder) that night would've been rock hard

See, I like the "monster of the week" episodes better than the alien bounty hunters/black oil/sully abduction stuff..
Neat fact, Vince Gilligan (Breaking Bad creator) wrote some of the best XF episodes, including one with Brian Cranston (Walt, which made him choose him for BB), and the one where they trip out on a crazy mushroom species.
