drying cakes between flushes????

Hello fellow shroomerites. I have been reading some conflicting information and hope someone with great knowledge can help me clarify which is true.
I stumbled across a thread with people arguing whether or not to let pf tek cakes air out for a day or 2 before dunking after the first and following flushes. Instantly it sounded crazy to me to let the cakes dry out at all. I would assume that would be terrible for the mycellium. The argument was being made that it better mimics nature therefore is better for the shroomies which I could kind of see gut have a hard time believing.
Help me shroomery!! Lol. Any input, especially input from some of the veterans on here that have possibly heard of this before would be much appreciated!

I've done both. If I do cakes now, I just go straight to dunk and back in the fc. I saw no benefit to waiting.

Agree with all the above. Just wanted to add though that they can still fruit if you do let them dry.
I have had a few where I harvested but didn't have my large pot clean and ready to dunk them in. Dunked them a day or 2 later for the same 12 hours as usual and they fruited fine. They seemed to perform the same as far as flushing but there was a little more lag time for the ones that dried out before the dunk.
