Casing Grow (Pic)

This is a casing grow composed of WBS, coir and peat moss for the casing. It is a cambodian strain. This was spawned to bulk on the 23rd of December. Let me know what you guys think!

looks nice. You should grab some agar and take clones from the clusters in the bottom left or top right

Beautiful! I've seen a lot of cases grain grows lately. I like it! I consider myself a bulk grower, but I do like how the v-tek has resurrected cased grains.

He mentioned coir, isn't cased grain just a casing on top of grains? I guess I haven't looked into this tek. My very first grow was just casing on top of grains, I was pretty surprised how well it turned out.

Whatever you got going on, it looks good

i just started putting 10% coir in my peat/verm/lime casings, they r rye to coir/verm/coffee then at 100%, they r cased, incubated for another 3 days or so, then put into FC.  this is a half harvested example:

when u say u cased after spawning to bulk, what bulk substrate did u use?  and what ratio of peat/coir did u use?  what brand of peat was it (just curious, i can only find miracle grow unless i go to home depot or something)

How do you prep your coffee grounds? Do you pasteurize them with your sub? I wanna try coffee grounds but I always here people talk about it causing contams.

same here, tho i will mention i pasteurize up to 170, i found it helps if there is coffee grounds in it (dunno if it has to do with the oils in coffee grounds that take longer to heat up or what?  i also use shitty coffee not flavored, not starbucks etc cause i think the starbucks coffees when u just look at a cup of black coffee has a lot more oil floating on top than just maxwell house).  maybe my luck tho, could just be coincidence, oil theory and all.
i also just put a bucket into fruiting conditions that had  chicken manure (1 tablespoon per quart jar of sub) in it for an N supplement instead of coffee, so if that works better, ill stick to that.
really wanna try this with an isolate for better application for projects (n supplementation, potency, etc so many theories genetics, nutrition, consolidation, substrate, etc)

I heard that mycelium eats aluminum. Have you had any problems found any holes?

well i have seen it in many pictures here, most ppl use a plastic liner now if they use aluminum (or anything for that matter). but, no, never had 1st hand exp. with that.
i use plastic, either buckets or tubs.  just line it with a black trash bag if u using aluminum trays

Awesome. 170 huh, thanks man, I'll have to give that a try   Let us know how the chicken manure works in comparison to coffee for you, I'd definetly be interested to hear.
