I am having some trouble need some tips have looked and can not find anything that answers my problem. I got my PF jars to colonize did the dunk and roll technique got them in fruiting chamber temp at 74 with ultrasonic humidifier running every hour in a half for 15 minutes fanning twice a day been five days no sign of fruits however. Any tips someone can give me?

I have been this is my first successful time getting them to colonize so I may just be being a little impatient. I have checked there and read several books after my third failure. Just checking to make sure I do not screw them up.

Pics of your setup would help us help you. What ki.d of fruiing chamber (fc) do you have? You should not need the ultrasonic.

I'd nix the ultrasonic...pending pics of your setup, but you likely don't need it.

I will post some here in a few minutes but it is the setup from the magic mushroom growers guide. I used a cooler setup up with 2 liter bottles connected to ultrasonic humidifier.

Read security and safety before you go posting too many pics. A colonized cake is no biggy, but a fruiting cake can be incriminating.

Ultrasonics are tricky to use (I use one myself but it has a variable control knob). Getting it to work as a forced air + humidity device without a control knob with bottles like that is a real bitch, but possible.
I <3 mine, they're not for everyone.
Try bypassing the bottles and just fogging up the chamber, and then once it's foggy in there, fan all the fog out so evaporation occurs after you put the lid back on.

Every chamber has different requirements. There's no solid rules when it comes to the system we're using. I'd say the larger the chamber volume, the less frequent the exchanges (but the longer it should be fogged up).
My ~20 gallon one I did 4-5/d a day, my ~40 gallon about 2-3/d when full.
edit: and I always had 1/8" holes at the perlite horizon, or below it, to help dissipate co2.
**editedit: Actually just wait a little too, 10-14 days is normal to see anything from a PF cake in my experience.

Here is pictures of my setup. I also have my ultrasonic humidifier running every hour and a half for 15 minutes is this to often? I am just wondering. I do not want to develop overlay. If anyone has pictures of what overlay looks like I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. I uploaded pics to my profile I am having trouble attaching them to this message.

Wow, you worked hard on that thing. Apologies for hijacking your post with all my replies. XD few people use ultrasonics anymore.
Other people with more experience will chime in after me. Probably telling you to make something totally different.
If it were mine, I'd add 2" of perlite, get it up off of the floor, and use a hygrometer to rate the moisture output of your hose to get it to ~95%. Add or remove bottles until you find the sweet spot.
Or get this: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/1/1/27849-kidsline-ultrasonic-whale-humidifier.html
It looks goofy, but it has a control knob.

I checked out your pics and have completely ZERO experience with that type of set up. I wouldn't start worrying too much until you are a couple weeks in. Sometimes you have pins right away sometimes you don't. I apologize if you already stated it above but did you let your cakes consolidate? If you want to see pins faster then let them consolidate longer until you have some invitro pins if you can stand waiting.
Humidity may be an issue. In my SGFC I have constant humidity because of the perlite. They are in a humid environment 24/7 only dropping a little with fanning. Then again you have that humidifier going quite often so I don't know. Seems like too complicated of a set up for just doing cakes. If you have the time and money I would suggest the SGFC. Works well and is simple. The more simple the less room for error.
Are you misting them too before fanning?
OH AND....

Yeah I just went with the one that had five stars LOL. The humidifier has a control knob I keep it on low. The place where I reside is currently winter so I tried to improvise and put a pyrex dish in the bottom with a fish tank heater in it so that I could regulate the temp it is at seventy four constantly. After doing much research I came across several easier setups. I have already invested a lot of money into this setup and want to get it working I know it is trial and error but I have not had any luck the last four times.

I may have also birthed them to soon I did it at about 15 days. However, they were fully colonized when I did the dunk and roll. Could this be why they are taking so long to fruit?

Hygrometers are usually shit but it may be worth investing in one just to make sure you are near the right level.
Then again for the cost of a good hygrometer you could just by a clear plastic tub and some perlite for a SGFC I live in a super dry area too. Especially with the winter and me running the heater in the house. Hasn't given me a problem yet.
Any links to the tek for this set up? If they had a good turnout and you replicated it EXACTLY then I am sure you just need to give it some more time.
In your pics there is an area on the top cake that looks kind of funny. Very airy looking white fluff? I have noticed this on cakes just after birthing where the myc is whispy and growing into the verm barrier layer. Not once I have them rolled and in the FC though. Usually the myc growing through the verm at that stage is much thicker appearing. At least in my experience so far.

Yes. Don't judge when to birth by days. Whether they take 1 week or 2 months to fully colonize shouldn't be what you are worried about. Once they appear fully colonized (the jar looks completely white) you want to let them sit and consolidate. This allows the myc growing around the exterior of the jar to grow into the center. If you didn't consolidate in the jar then they are doing that inward growth now while in your FC. They are also a little more susceptible to contams if there is any uncolonized substrate there.

I would think so. To promote evaporation from the substrate which causes knots->pins->fruits
I would have to believe that it would have outlined all of this in the tek you followed.

Build a SGFC and ditch the humidifier.....
http://www.mushroomvideos.com/Terrarium-Tek
No need for a hygrometer either.....
New growers should focus more on fresh air exchange and less on humidity levels.

Thank you. Would it be smart to construct some kind of container underneath to help regulate the temperature above to optimal fruiting conditions.

If you are doing a SGFC then regulate the temp of the room your FC is in. Don't go trying to make it something high tech and fancy. Follow the standard SGFC which Notahacker supplied you with. If constructing a temperature control container underneath was a great idea, it would be suggested in the tek.
Don't over think this too much.

No....rely on room temperature....if anything heat the entire room, never heat the chamber.

Never give up dude once you 'get it' once it all just snaps together, at least it did for me. The plus side is that you have the equipment now to make a BIG setup later should you want to make like, pounds and pounds XD PM me if you want to see how I set up my ultrasonic, I don't want to post public images. Peace, and good luck.

What i did for my first fruiting chamber that i dont see used much anymore idk why.
Basically a SGFC yet instead of holes on the bottom, there is no holes. I filled the bottom of the cage up with 4inches of perlite then filled it was 2-4inches of water and stuck 2 bubble wants in the water hooked up to a fish air pump. then put a fish tank heater in the water too, keep it at 99% RH, and any temperature i wanted. Drill holes on the lid, and everywhere you can that wont let the water leak. I then put a mesh type metal stand in there and set 20+cakes and watched the beauty unfold. I would only mist 2-4 times a day. Some days only once. I got fuzzy feet yes, but i aint complaining. It wasn't too bad. FAE is the key to SGFC

Ignore the little spots on the stem, they're another evil. It's called Fuzzy Feet...and that's the technical term

Your ultrasonic is a really big, expensive misting bottle when it's cranked full, and I think it's more gentle too.
& like Notahacker said, straight up tap water.

Yeah it was like $50 bucks but it had the control knob hopefully can learn how to use it later in a BIGGER setup LOL. I need to master the basics first though. Thank you all for all the help I really appreciate it.

Hey I went to my buddy house and saw some stuff on one of his mushies that I did not see on the other one is very skinny and kinda blue at the bottom with fuz I think it is fuzzy feet. The other two were fat and looked good they just started pinning a few days ago. My buddy said he was misting them 2-3 times a day and fanning the same amount once they pin are you still supposed to do this?

This thread has a really, really unusual amount of bad advice. I kept thinking this stuff was posted seven years ago or something.
1) SGFC or Monotub 2) Do not alter. Do not modify. Do not "improve" the design. 3) Go find the user Bodhisatta and follow the links in his signature 4) find the users FrankHorrigan and TranscendingLife - read their journals 5) pay $10 for the Lets Grow Mushrooms video series. It is worth every penny.
You will never ever need the humidifier as part of a set up. Ever. If you live in a place with very low rH you can use the humidifier to humidify your house. That's about it. Keep it the hell away from your setup. Listen to Pussyfart and cronicr. I would pretty much ignore the other posters in this thread as rude as that sounds.
