cake storage and reactivation: what would you do in my case?

First timer here, started with 18 jars and ended with 10 or 11 uncontaminated cakes. Have had decent luck (3 dry oz so far), and did second flush (shotgun fruiting chamber). I thought things were about done for the second flush but then some of the cakes kicked back into gear. My wife and I leave in three days for a week long dive trip, I'll be able to harvest a few before we leave, but other's I'll have to harvest as aborts (we have a friend staying here, but I don't want to involve him in helping out with this). Since some of the cakes are still going, I'm hoping I can "hibernate" them for the week, and reactivate to see if I get a third flush. Which of the two options do you think is best?
1) Turn the light off the timer, just let the cakes (that I've cleaned off of pins) sit in the chamber in the dark and maybe dry out some while we are away, then dunk for 24 hours and roll.
2) After cleaning them off, wrap in plastic bags and store in the fridge for the week.
I've done searching, and have not found a conclusive answer, just know that I should NOT freeze them. Also, if letting dry out or storing in fridge, should I coat with fresh vermicelite?

I know you shouldn't roll them in verm after the first flush.
If your FC gets great FAE, then fuck it, leave them for a week and see how it goes.
If you're still dialing it in, then maybe the fridge is the best option....
I'm still a noob though man...so don't put all your weight on those.

Pull what you can the day before you leave, dunk and try to lower temps in your fruiting room to 60-65F to slow them down.
Really, though, you should be alright to just leave them.

Not roll after the first flush? Whoops, did that wrong!
I find I have to mist at least 3 or 4 times a day to keep humidity up. Hmmm, maybe fridge, though I could clean off all growth and just take chances leaving in the chamber, I've seem to recall reading about some people reinvigorating dried cakes. My only fear would be if they would rot, but more likely they will dry.

Fruiting room is closet in studio apartment, which is always around 75 degrees in winter, so can't lower temp to 65 degrees. I'm thinking of taking the chance and just cleaning then leaving them, no verm on them perhaps. Then dunk 'em again when I get back. If it fails, I have a spore print, I'll make more cakes later (fun hobby!)

I would leave the verm on if you plan on leaving them...don't take it off.
If you're in a studio apt, just turn the heat down while you're away....or close the door to the room and crack a window....put a few playing cards or something under it so it lets in just enough air to keep the room cool...depending on where you live.
