My grow log -
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/19368622
Could do with a bit of advice. Its been a week since i constructed my bed for my cyan myc using beech-wood/sawdust/perlite.
I pasteurized the wood and dust for around 90 minuets before, however today i have noticed that it has stared to develop mold on the top layer thats exposed to the air? Is this some thing i need to worry about? Should i dig out my inoculated card and start again before it has a chance to penetrate deeper into the bed?
I know cyans are tough sons of bitches when it come to contams, but i dont want to ruin my first grow.
All help appreciated

If I'm reading this right, you pasteurized your outdoor chips? I believe the chips you use outside just get soaked and that's it. If you spawned them indoors then you would pasteurize. I may be mistaken tho, so let's wait for someone who knows what they are doing.

Hey man, yes the chips are being spawned indoors hence the reason for the pasteurization process. They'll be moved out doors in the spring.
Pasteurizing doesn't seem to have killed all contams as there is mold growing on top of the substrate after a week.
I've had a look on-line for some info but its limited with the species.

I know, would love some info on what i can do to resolve the problem. I've got plenty of wood/sawdust left to start again and i left my myc on sheets of card that are in the middle of two layers of substrate.
Should i take the inoculated card out pasteurize some new chips and start again?
The mold is only on the surface of the chips thats exposed to the atmosphere. Closer to the myc there still good.
