I've had two yr old totally neglected half (or less) qt jars of azures still PRODUCE after being tossed outside into a loving environment. It's best to keep spawn strong and not be "mean" to it, but I love my woodlovers just cause they endure my neglectful abuse.
Just keep expanding healthy chunks and you are set FOR LIFE
I had a rad idea and made a sick planting yesterday, I took a hollowed out cotton wood log, that had an opening on one side, I stuff with chips then mixed in P azurescen, P ovoid, P serbica and P allenii chip spawn to battle it out for masses!! Then I am covering with nice moss species and it looks sweet sitting in the yard!

Hey guys, I'm not sure if I ever updated this thread. But my tub of chips failed after I transferred the tubs, I gave up cause I had shit to do in real life. Anywhoo, I went out hunting for the first time today I spent a total of 10 seconds before I found a small patch of Cyanescens!!
What's ironic, and funny is that I spent days worth of hunting last year and only 10 seconds this year. The funniest part is that these were only a couple inches if not 1-2 feet away from where my wood chips were thrown.... WHO WOULD HAVE GUESSED?!?!?!
At least you guys weren't fully let down!

Nice dude!
Its no mystery they grew so close to home! Spores were in the air and found a new home.
Dont forget to sprinkle some alder wood dust froom the BBQ store, and make that mycelium grow like a mother!

Good point!
Plus, birch, maple and oak are more common in nature anyway, so its a more natural environment for the fungi too.
I will try a blend next time, thanks for the tip

What's up guys!
I'm happy that I was able to get you guys some pics of Cyans that I found right by my failed wood chips
I'm pretty sure these Cyans have something to do with me... they're starting to sprout all over the place around where I dumped the chips!
I think I may have a few small azures too!? Here's the 2 small suspected azures. Only reason I think they are azures is because they were in a different area, has a pointy top and looks like a flying saucer when the cap opens, they bruise very very easily blue, much more than the cyans.

Yup for sure once they finish flushing i'll add some fresh chips over the areas. I was wearing gloves because I had to move a lot of leaves and sticker bushes down on my knees. I ended up ripping up my forearms anyway with scratches

How positive are you that those are cyans??

Those are my Azures from this year.
If your veil looks like a bunch on thin fibers then I want to say you have azures there my friend.

I guess we shall wait til you bioassay them...
azures have quite a kick, while ps. cyans don't kick quite as much...
I got my money on them being azures...
