No growth yet... I think I had them in too cool of temps. Just moved them back into 65-70 today. It seems as if every chip is consolidated and doesn't want to colonize
edit: just found out probably the main cause, gas exchange was much less, C02 built up and stalled growth it's fixed now and I hope it should start to take off soon. Very worried it won't though

I just made 6 pots of an unknown woodlover from Slovania, about 2 weeks ago and I noticed yesterday its spreading like mad.
It is not as vigorous as P azure so I wonder whats up man?
You didnt use the stacked flower pots with unsterile chips did you?

I let gas build up, just stalled the growth. That combined with low temps, I hope they recover.. But can't say for sure. What do you think?

I just added the rest of the spawn in hopes of growth encouragement and recovery. We'll see what happens I have hope
BTW, I was picking up my 2 bins of chips off a shelf I had them on, long story short I dropped the shelf directly on top of my foot from 5 feet in the air. I broke a bone in the top of my foot. DAMN AZURES!!

I am not clear about the spawn to chip ration. I have read anywhere from 1:1 to 10:1. I have 7 PF techs to spawn. How much chip should I use?
I am wonder if starting at a 1:1 and continually feeding it more chips as it grows is a better bet than going 10:1 and not feeding?
Looking forward to the birthday party this afternoon!

Also... should I pasteurize the chips, which will come from my local garden supply mountain of chips.

If you are spawning to woodchips and sawdust should you pasteurise then?

Not needed! And I would recommend keeping them fed early you don't want to fall into a mistake like I made. I could of waited too long to feed them, they did start to consolidate the chips a good bit but I should of fed them earlier so they keep on going strong. Also always make sure to have adequate gas exchange and temps, all those could be factors of the stalling of my totes.

Wood lovers are resilient and very strong
I've had two yr old totally neglected half (or less) qt jars of azures still PRODUCE after being tossed outside into a loving environment. It's best to keep spawn strong and not be "mean" to it, but I love my woodlovers just cause they endure my neglectful abuse.
Just keep expanding healthy chunks and you are set FOR LIFE
