Dexter
    #19392623 - 01/09/14 08:16 AM (10 years, 22 days ago)

I am not a big fan of many TV shows and have never watched a marathon of anything but for the show Dexter it is different.  Something about the dark psychological high anxiety that keeps me watching and watching for hours on end.  Anyone else a fan of the show?  Or what show are you currently addicted to?

Dexter is awesome. I also like cartoons like Super Jail. Can't watch that shit while tripping though. I've tried too many times and I get completely lost in the TV. Fucks with my head.

I thought it was a great series (I've seen every episode), but I felt like the last few seasons were a bit of a decline in quality.

Dexter is pretty cool, as series go. One thing I would have liked to see is some action between him and his sister. I mean they got the whole idea started, I say either follow through or don't open the subject.

In terms of looks, the sheer size of the ear lobes on that woman, it's utterly amazing. First time when I saw them exposed from under her hair I was like holy smokes, what Dumbo madness is this?

I just started watching Dexter, on episode 11... kinda interesting. Not sure how this show is gonna last 8 seasons though. Very psychopathy

I found that the first 4 or so seasons were the best, the later ones I didn't enjoy as much... but there are strong antagonists throughout, so s'al good :feelsgoodman:

I am into:

House of Cards
Murikan Horror Story
Under the Dome
The Following
Hannibal
The Walking Dead

---------

Still gotta do:

The Wire
Rest of Arrested Development
Catch up to Madmen.
Maybe Game of Thrones.

It's more fun if you watch it with someone.

Sitting by yourself watching eight seasons of Michael C Hall talking to himself in his head and killing people can start to feel kind of weird.

A brilliant show, though.

When you're done with it, I recommend you check out Six Feet Under, if you haven't watched it.

Haven't got into Dexter, not sure I will.  Seems a bit sensationalist for me.  Six Feet Under was pretty great, though I glad they ended it when they did.

Other shows I have liked enough for marathon watching:

Rome
Deadwood
Game of Thrones
The Wire
Breaking Bad

Wow almost all HBO.  I was pissed about them cancelling the first two, especially how they did it mid-story, but maybe that isn't such a bad thing.  I usually like these shows for the first 3 seasons or so, then I start to lose interest.  Usually there is a bell curve from no interest to high interest to no interest over 6 seasons or so.

Game of Thrones seems to be going strong, can't wait for that one to return, but my sis tells me that the books author is old and hasn't even finished the series!  I'd hate to be left hanging, but I'd also not want a rushed ending.

Dexter really shit itself by seasons 6 onwards, and Rita was one of the most aggravating cunts TV has ever witnessed.
I was pretty happy when she was killed, definitely improved the quality of subsequent seasons.

i was never a huge TV nut, i fall asleep if i try and sit still watching crap unless i'm really interested.  nevertheless, there are a very select group of shows i DID watch addictively:
  • house md (watched the first 3 seasons over and over and over)
  • scrubs
  • the venture brothers (i watched that series over and over and over again too, up until the end of the phantom limb arc)
  • american dad
  • naruto (lolol, yep)

i never watched anything in order tho.  i would just download all the eps onto my computer and watch literally ANYTHING on random while i was cooking or doing homework or whatever...  eventually i would figure out what was going on in the story, and then go back and watch specific eps to fill in the gaps.

EDIT:  i have to say also - seinfeld?  YES
