In my expereance.. people have a sort of stockholm syndrome towards their suffering...
I live because I like it. I dont have to give a shit and worry my self about things in order to feel blissful.. that is quite upside down..

Life is worry. If you have no worry, then you are as detached from your existence as you could possibly be.
The shepherds want you to eat at the trough and to wander just as far as the fence. You're doing well.

People like suffering? I've heard some philosophical/psychological stance on that somewhere but I really don't know enough to comment tbh.
Yeah worrying to make yourself happy doesn't really work ha ha, I feel its important for people to at least have some desire to improve the lot of themselves, those around them and society as a whole.

People who lack the impulse to improve themselves and their surrounding environment deserve no sympathy.

I kind of approach this with the foundation of going into politics just to explain So I feel like providing childcare, more teachers, social housing(from low to higher ends) and making business easier is giving opportunities and outside help to those people.
Maybe they really don't have the means to do these things themselves and yano, as much as 100 people in my area want crime to decrease and have a community watch, without the power of the state to spend 15 years providing meals, a home, education and the whole myriad of services, that drop in crime is unlikely/very temporary.
Feel free to shit on my idea's, they quite probably need it, fyi I'm from Ireland and am left leaning so I'm not anti-big government so that explains the above somewhat

So are you dead, or alive? A life of worry and suffering never sounded too appealing to me...

Do worry about the world OP, you'll never see it anyway. Just do like the rest of us, start not caring and become selfish, then you can proceed to make the world even worse. It's a team effort, everyone has to contribute.

OP I think the world is getting better. The chance of nuclear war is low. Two states legalized weed something I never thought would happen. All the movies music and most of the TV I ever enjoyed is available free for download. I think the world is way better than 25 years ago. If life sucks save money and go backpacking around Asia having sex with Asian girls. If you really are upset about everyone just caring for themselves go join some volunteer group. My friend is working for 6 months in Tibetan refugee camp in India. Do something! If the world sucks do something to make it better.
