Hey all. Havent posted in cultivation for a while. I was just wondering, what is the best substrate for sclerotia that can be done without a pc? Ive heard you can do it with brf tek but it isnt the best.. ive also heard that there is some coffee based substrate that works well? Thanks!

I would assume any bulk substrate could be done without a PC since they're only pasteurized.
Or did you mean spawn? Such as grains?
You could crumble brf cakes to bulk substrate. Coir + verm is easy.
EDIT: I'm assuming this is also possible with the BRF sclerotia... haven't seen it done though.

I would be doing the tek where you grow the sclerotia in jars. So it would have to be a substrate that a pc is not needed for.

You could always steam sterilize for 8 hours continously, haahaha. Keep a ketle handy to refil every so often to replace the evaped water.
Cronicr does this... but he also has all day.

not having a PC greatly reduces your choices of substrates. grain being the best imo, i got some nice stones off wbs

you can't just get a small pressure cooker? It makes everything soooo much better. And you can use any substrate you want
Steam has lower success rates even with the things it CAN do

Im in the situation with 0$ income. Lol. College makes it hard. Guess it will be worth it in the end. But unfortunately i cannot steam for 8 hours because propane is very expensive.. it sucks not having a gas powered stove. I do have a crockpot slow cooker. I know a pc would save me trouble but i just cant afford one right now. So.. Like i said... Any substrates i can steam? Or is there no chance of me growing me some stones

Have you looked on craigslist or any other 'upcycle' sites in your area? I just did a quick search on CL in my area and found 3 PCs available for under $15.
