Ceropegia stapeliiformis

I have had this plant for a year or so and it first lived in my grow room in my shed and then after I completed my greenhouse last summer it took up residence in there.
Initially it grew not at any great rate but it grew and seemed happy enough. After the move into the greenhouse I hooked it up as it was starting to get quite long and it continued with much the same growth as before. The main stem continued to fatten up as it grew longer. It is only in a 89mm pot and in a very fast draining mix but with it regular watering and liquid fertz it still seemed happy enough.
In the last few weeks it has just about doubled its length and It has what looked like flower buds on it. I am going to string up something for it to go on now as it is really starting to take over.
These were taken when the buds started forming a few weeks ago
Taken this morning

Wow, all of that from one little cactus. They sure make it a point to make an entrance don't they?

I can see why it has the specific epithet given to it. Very stapelia-like.
Nice plant GOT. Does it have a smell?

I did notice smell in the green house last night but I only ducked in quickly and never noticed it this morning. I will have to give it a sniff tonight.

I'm just wondering if it has the Carrion/Roadkill smell the stapeliads have. I doubt it does though, I'm guessing a light scent or even with a touch of citrus.

Lovely. Those little hairs along the petals, do they dangle in the slightest breeze? I find that fascinating in Ceropegia.

I Wonder in it's natural environment what types of creatures would it be catering to for pollination?I'm thinking maybe Moths,or Butterflies.

It had dropped its flower by the time I got home but there should be another one open today or tomorrow so I will check out the smell. I will be doing the sniff test with caution as I can still remember sniffing my first stapeliad flower.
KB I think that they are pollinated by flies like stapeliads but I cant find the info that I read on them in the last week. I also think you have to dissect the flower to pollinate it but I could be wrong on that as I have been reading a fair bit about pollinating a number of different plants.

There is crazy variation in the Ceropegia genus. I have two species (woodii and dont recall the other) that are both vine like and which produce tuber like nodes that when planted can develop into large caudex like growths. I couldn't believe that yours was actually a Ceropegia as well till I saw the flowers.
