High Class Dining: Colorado Restaurant Introduces Weed-and-Food Pairing Menu
"The lady will have your finest blunt." By Samantha Grossman @sam_grossmanJan. 08, 2014
When you go to a gourmet restaurant, you might find yourself asking the sommelier to recommend a fine wine to complement your meal. But now, as more states begin to legalize recreational marijuana use, diners will soon be asking another question: What fine weed will enhance my dining experience?
Patrons of Colorado’s Hapa Sushi have already begun asking this important question thanks to the restaurant’s new pot-and-dinner pairing menu. Back in 2009, the restaurant launched a print campaign that encouraged smokers to come eat sushi to satisfy their munchies. And now the chain, with locations in Boulder and Denver, is back on the pro-weed scene, urging locals to toke up and eat up — at the same time.
Here are some of the suggested dinner-and-dope combinations:
Pakalolo Shrimp with Pakistani Kush Honey Miso Salmon with Sour OG Katsu Curry with Blue Dream
Oh and don’t worry — the dining room is “ergonomically designed to reduce paranoia” so you can just sit back, take a toke, and then probably start giggling about how weird it is that something that used to swim in the ocean is now inside you.
-------------------- You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. That is bad ass. Personally though, as a fine diner every once in awhile er myself, I am somewhat not into "smoking sections." I'd prefer an outside part of the restaurant to smoke and inside just food. Am I a snob? Personally I just find eating smoke free so much better, even it is bud.
Plus I get the feeling that people will want to smoke cigars after dessert and being fucking blasted and eating anyway

I don't know if this is a national mandate, but you can't smoke in restaurants in VA unless they sections are 100% segregated. IE they have their own ventilation systems separate from the rest of the 'raunt. So that cigar line doesn't make sense to me.
What do I know, though.

That's cool, but I'm more interested in a restaurant where all the dishes are cooked using marijuana as an ingredient. I'd really love to try some wine that is made with weed

this shouldn't be a factor at all. Drunk driving is illegal yet bars exist.

That never made sense to me about the US. They put a bar in the fucking middle of nowhere with no sidewalks or access to public transportation and then people aren't supposed to drive drunk after they got loaded. Crazy country.

You can't go out for drinks without getting loaded? Do the bars you frequent require it?

Well, by the law you could be "loaded" after only 2-3 drinks. Loaded is a relative and vague term, if u blow u blow. "Drunk" or intoxicated to the point of blowing above the legal limit, could be from only a few drinks.

Its still the peoples choice and peoples responsibility to know there limit and drive responsibly. You can always call a taxi. I dont understand why MJ should be any different, can someone clarify if the above ^ is true for on site consumption.
Maybe have a waiver people sign stating they will not drive after consuming cannabis infused menu item or purchasing cannabis pairing. And not having on site parking. But seems like alot of trouble for BS, hopefully if that is true the voters clear it up soon.

A small person could be "loaded" after just one.
How does that change my question?

The very point of going to a bar with friends is socializing and getting drunk, right?
It's been a while since I've last been to a bar, but I do not know of any where getting drunk is mandatory, no.

Nope. While some see it that way, many go out to have fun and socialize. And amazingly enough... many can do that without getting drunk. True story.

So you can go out to a bar without getting drunk. Imagine that!

Zero tolerance. Inconvenient, it is what it is. Legal limit is legal limit. Fuck off I'm not going to get a DUI because you want to be an arrogant asshole.
