Shamanic or other interesting music to play while tripping

I've experimented with a good variety of different music while tripping and I seem to like psychedelic trance such as Shpongle the most. However I'm reading an article about Ayahuasca on Erowid that talks about how the shaman's music largely influences a person's trip. You can find the article here:
Ayahuasca and Its Mechanism of Healing
It talks about how the differing tone and tempo of the shaman's music leads one to different phases of the trip. It even says that different music produces different visions. So a good shaman would be one that is able to produce the best music to help guide the user into a relaxed introspective state.
So this has me thinking about using music or other rhythmic sounds to influence my trips. I wanted to come on this forum and ask if you guys know of any recordings of actual shaman's songs. I would like to experiment with listening to this the next time I trip. I imagine it would be much different from listening to Shpongle or other psytrance (although some of those songs can sound tribal-like).
Anyone got any clips of shamanic chanting? Or just shamanic music in general.
Maybe even shamanic drumming? I've heard about how drumming can help one to transcend to a different state of being but I never researched it much. I'm sure there's people on here that have experimented with it.
Basically in this thread I want to hear intelligent conversation of how sounds relate and influence tripping and altered states of consciousness. I'm excited to hear your opinion.

Yeah, these are pretty much THE songs they play at the circle. My favorites are "All that I am", Madre Tierra, Teacher in the Forrest, Paradise is here, I am you... As well as this version of Child of The Universe and the version of Pachamama I'm Coming Home by Yopi which you can google.
There are plenty other great, even better, ones. One thing to keep in mind though is literally every single shaman i've listened to plays these songs entirely differently.
As far as the influence on the trip... The words of the song kind of speak for themselves. Just extremely positive songs written by other people while they were in the circle and I'm sure you can see how that would affect someone in their trip. I remember being at the most difficult part of my trip and hearing the words "and there's no other way, all are one is the essence of living." And my mind pretty much just looped around the concept like it was beating it into my psyche on the most vulnerable levels.Quote:

I don't know what you're talking about... this IS the music the shamans play in many circles. At least in this day and age. The point isn't to have intangible tribal noises, but things that really relate to and help people on their journey

Dafuq? Did you click the same link that I saw? Because I don't know how you get trance music from an acoustic guitar and drums
Unless perhaps you replied to the wrong person. But that sacredvalleytribe link is the music for any pachamama circle.

For me it depends. I am a musician and for the most part only listen to metal but I also like some classical music too. For tripping though it all depends where you want to go. I can listen to some classical piano and go to another world. I've never really tripped to tribal drumming but I would imagine it could be other worldly given the right dose and setting. Maybe download a good tribal drum track put it on a cd/mp3 player and bring it out in the woods in the late evening, almost dark but not quite. Eat a nice amount and have fun. Good luck!

Well it turns out this is one of my specialties. Here are two of the best musicians out there that are not only making music especially suited for inward journeys but they are also quite familiar with the ways that lead to such experiences * wink wink, nudge nudge *
Steve Roach has an impressive catalog dating as far as the 1980s. Here is a sample of some of his music:
Byron Metcalf specialises in shamanic drumming and he's one of the finest out there. He's recorded some music with Steve as well. Here is a sample:

I would advise against pure drumming... unless you know to keep you cool no matter what.. with a youtube video... you can stop, but you cannot return at will as you would drumming yourself... neither can you controll it...

i know you're primarily interested in "shamanic drumming," however i would highly encourage seeking out some of the "dick's picks" versions of "drums" by the grateful dead. there are many drum "jams" that have a lot of depth and versatility, and in my opinion go hand-in-hand with the psychedelic experience.
just listen to a couple versions, preferably the 20+ minute versions and see if it's something that would fit well into your journey. HIGHLY recommended

The best is to get a frame drum and drum yourself anyway. You can already reach profound altered states by drumming only, can you imagine how amazing it will be while tripping? Go for it, it's worth it...

While that is indeed true, the problem I see is that you cannot reach a state of truly letting go since you need to keep drumming to keep the momentum going. This is why, in traditional societies, there is a drummer ( or drummers ) and people experiencing the journey.
While I was shrooming one day, I decided to use my tabla ( indian hand drum ) and it was amazing, especially because of the sheer variety of tones you can get with a tabla but after a while I wished I could have laid down and let the beat carry me away but I couldn't since I had to keep playing.

That is a practice thing... you need to stop focusing on drumming, but feel how it beats and change the beat through the feeling of it... drumming should be more of a subconsciouss thing.. you just change the feeling, and the drum will follow..
-------------------- And thus begins the reverse-fusing of our one-dimentional understanding, and adds ever-expanding perspectives, in depth and number; splitting our perception, and in so doing, seemingly irrationally, creates yet more one-ness, with all that ever was, is and will ever be, streching across the infinite, inunderstood concept of everything, percievable and not.
