Is This an Abort? [PIC]

Calling on all you bonnefied cultivators for some knowledge.

My friend is growing B+ from multi spore syringe in a PMP. He birthed and dunked the half pint PF cakes for 24hrs on Sat 4th Jan. On Monday this little shroom appeared and has only grown a tiny bit since then.

Will this fella keep on growing or is he an abort? He didn't expect anything to be growing for at least a week.

The PMP is heated by a 50watt aquarium heater via TiT. FAE is provided by a 320 litres per hour air pump and the chamber is a 40 Litre plastic tote.

Humidity stays at 100% so he opens and fans 3 times per day to help evaporate some moisture off the cakes. I have seen him mist once but once this fella appeared he stopped.

TLDR: is the mushroom in the picture an abort?

Your friend should build a SGFC and forget about air pumps......he should have also dunked and rolled his cakes.....they should also not be touching the perlite/clay pellets........


No that is not an abort......how often do you mist/fan the cakes?

Thanks guys :laugh: hopefully that is the first of many to come... Haha I should have known the "build a SGFC" comments would come.

Unfortunately his shared flat is too cold for a SGFC as it dips to 14C at night and during the day and only reaches 18C for a short time in the evening so he needed a way to heat the fruiting chamber.

He didn't place the cakes on foil as he was following Magash's PMP Tek which recommends placing directly onto the expanded clay pellets. My friend knows this is an old Tek but it was the only way he was going to be able to grow these and I sure as hell wasn't going to let him grow them in my house!!
