Excessive?
I figure this way I can be super efficient at catching particles by that I mean my 1900 MPR filter wont be catching stuff like lint that a normal pleated would but with more steps . So it will save money on filters long term , Im hoping to keep my filter for 10 years or so .
For 70$ I just feel like it is a great long term investment .
Am I just going overboard , If so how many prefilters should I use or do you use?

You'll have to figure out the static pressures and what your blower is capable of. You can't just tack on whatever you want.

My blower is variable speed so I can always just turn it up and add more cheap filters

Stacking them is fine if you get enough flow. However, it's not necessary. I use the 1900 ultra allergen filters and change them whenever I notice the flowhood starting to lose its rate of flow. I've been using the same flowhood HEPA filter for over 12 years now and with a new prefilter, it still flows like new. I run it up to 8 hours daily, but usually in the 4 hour range. RR
