help needed with purple contamination (pic) and pressure cooking issue

hey everyone, i have been lurking in this forum and trying to grow cubes for a while. Have few questions, any help would be appreciated.
*I did some research, thinking that it's lipstick mold. What is this exactly? *Could dunking in diluted bleach save this cake? *Will this have a chance to fruit? if yes, will i get sick of eating them? *If pressure cooking 90m is not killing bacteria, what is the point of it?
*** Pressure cooked 90 min. Switched their normal lids to poly fill lids afterwards. Jars colonized in 5 days. Purple thing showed up on 3rd day. Sorry for my bad English.

What substrate is that?
90 minutes is plenty long enough. The problem had to come at some other point in the process.
I am not convinced it is a contamination just yet. It may be a pigment from your substrate.

And how did you perform this ? I mean, did you use a glovebox or any other completely sterile environment ?
Either way, changing lids after PCing destroys the concept of a sterile substrate. The moment you open the lid, you're inviting contamination in. Try avoiding risks such as switching lids. Keep the "normal" lids and see if it contaminates again.
Btw, that jar is doomed. Any cake with contamination before birth is most probably lost. Period.
The substrate looks damn weird ... it belongs to a H. R. Giger art collection of some sort. But anyway, pics good, description good but you say nothing about the substrate you're using. That's possibly one of the most important aspects regarding your issues.

Let me guess what you used as substrate. Was it something like this ?

Many thanks for reply. Im not using a glovebox, just cleaning, spraying a small room before im going to inoculate jars. I know it's not a very sterile environment but kind of works for me. About the lids thing, i tried many things and every time i ended up with bacteria. While ago tried p.cooking with closed lid jars then bacteria happened in water drops at the bottom of the jars, even if i shake them right after pc or not. Plus, one jar which i hadn't inoculated got contaminated too.
Lol i love h.r.giger's art. And yes i used pasta as u mentioned, but with bigger size and non organic-cheapest one. My procedure is:
*Pour pasta in all ready boiling water and cook for 5 minutes. *Strain the pasta. *PC 90m *Add 1:100 bleach *Shake *Wait *Shake *Change lids to poly fill lids *Wait for jars to cool down *Inoculate lc or g2g and shake.
***BTW what's pigment form? ****update jar's like burning, 80-83 f itself so i put it to a more cooler place.

Don't get me wrong but I'll go straight to the issue. Your procedure as some evident flaws:
1 - Why the bleach ? 2 - Changing lids 3 - Shake and shake and shake
I don't know what to say. First of all, have you tried and mastered PF tek already ? or do you have any experience with grain ? What's your overall rate of success ? I mean, you sure can try new things - I did myself many mistakes and learned from them - but resorting to that kind of substrate makes little sense. It's too dense and its humidity retention properties must fluctuate as hell. IMHO, shaking it will only make things worst.
You also say you're using lc ? ... one more source of possible contamination.
Want an advice ? Stick with the basics. Classic PF tek + multispore syringe.

Pigment comes from the contaminant most probably.
A cooler place ?! Jar's hot thanks to the fermentation process of the contaminant. It will cook until it becomes mush without the room. I guess Gordon Ramsey would have a word or two about this whole cookery ...
I would ditch the contaminated jars in the trash bin. If you want to clean them. Do it outside with a bucket of bleach and water in front of you. That's some good use for bleach. Oh ! Wear a mask if you can.

had little experience with grains before. 50% success with rye. half of them got bacteria, other half fruited. Have very high success with corn, but the problem is it takes hell a lot of time to colonies. Tried few times but never succeeded in WBS. Ok man i will take your advice. Tossing jars today, going to try PF Tek this time. I hope that works for me this time. Thanks for help.
