Thats crony capitalism for you :billymaythumbup: notice that is crony capitalism. NOT capitalism.

Every model of capitalism to ever exist is crony.

That's like the people who say "yeah communism is only good in theory, it never works in practice."

So where's the distinction?

No.

What's the distinction between capitalism in reality and communism in reality? In terms of strict adherence to the ideology?

If you're readily admitting that capitalism doesn't work in the real world the way it should, isn't it fair to suggest alternatives?

If a guy was sitting in a work camp in 1960's Siberia complaining of a meager standard of living, would it be fair to tell him "Don't knock communism man, this is crony communism."

capitalism in reality does not force shitty situations upon anyone. Communism by definition does.

Tough shit.  Be your own employer if you don't like it

Start your own business if you don't like it.  Nobody is stopping you.  The government is hindering you but not quite stopping you.  Yet.

lol. It's so simple!!!

Theres a finite supply of capital, market share, and consumers, the same way there is a finite supply of jobs.

Not everybody can be a successful entrepreneur, the model of our economy explicitly forbids it. And statistics support that fact.

Keep making excuses for yourself.  I didn't need any capital to start my business.  Stop whining.

I'm not making excuses for myself, I happen to be doing just fine.

It's called empathy.

Oh BOO HOO HOO.  The system is 'unfair.'

Well suck it up Jack.  If you don't want to do anything for yourself except complain don't worry about it.  After all, the country needs ditch-diggers too.

Is that what you tell yourself everytime you make a thread about Democrats ruining the world?

And I don't know how to make it any more clear that I'm not advocating a social democracy because I want sympathy or because my life sucks. My upbringing and successes should dictate that I be a conservative, but I also tend to read sometimes so instead I lean left. I also have a bachelor's degree in finance from a popular state university and have a great job.
You two are so predisposed to the knee-jerk catch phrases that you honestly have no response to someone arguing against greed.

"He must be disadvantaged or lazy or wanting a handout because there's no other reason he'd be condemning the largest wealth inequality in our nation's history."

Amazing.

I remember when I graduated from NMSU with a bS in electrical engineering, there where wall street firms and investiment companies recruiting.  they said they always recruited from the engineering school first, because that was where the brains where.  :smirk:

But seriously, I have a BSEE with honors, an AA with a concentration and Japanese and English, and enough credits of  a masters in Engineering Physics and EE, and a minor in mathematics.

And I read A LOT.

That's why I don't fall for this 'income equality' horseshit.

If you really were a Canadian you'd have written "aboot".

Oh, since you apparently are successful, income inequality doesn't exist?  Nobody is saying that you, as a college graduate, should be making the same amount as a HS dropout flipping burgers.  People are questioning why executives are being paid more in a year than the average employee will make in their lifetime.

because in a private company, the board of directors can pay whatever they want to whoever they want.  It is their money.  If someone doesn't like it, don't work for that company.
