Why the Hell Not?

I don't have a huge bang to start the year, but I might as well put it in a solid thread so that it's easier to find at the end of the year.
I found one cool shroom, and I'll give you some crap pictures as filler fodder.
I guess Trametes

An old, frozen trumpet.

I didn't expect it, but I think this is a fucked Strobilomyces.

Randoms that I didn't place much interest in.

And lastly, my first Calostoma! I'm guessing at cinnabarinum. But maybe some knowledge, or someone knowledgeable can help me.

I can't wait for the heat to rise, literally and metaphorically in a fungal way. Till then, I'll try to keep up with you Florida folk.

Thanks Brad, I'm glad you're here.
Since the last thread I looked at my pics on a few other screens, and tried to compensate for the old dead screen that I actually use.
I can't wait to show off a Memphis spring. There are good times to match these bad, and I'm stretching to new grounds as I learn. Even though my tiny yard continues to surprise me with its diversity.

That's funny, I almost didn't upload it because I thought it was shat. If I had done more hunting it certainly wouldn't have made the cut.

Very nice pictures. The top one looks like it could be Daedaleopsis confragosa.

Great lighting in this set gnome I'm sure you've mentioned it before, but what camera do you use?

I've never heard of it, but it seems pretty damn close.

Thanks. Midnight. I'm using the T3i. I use a mixture of really cheap macro filters and lense reversers as well. Apart from initial costs though I only have about $40 in the set up, including tripod and remote.
If you ever see a blue haze at the edge of a sharp detail(especially a white edge) or a stretch at the corners, then it's because of the macro filter. When I zoom out with the macro filter it gives a "tunnel visions" look.
If there's an obvious improvement in lighting, then I would like to attribute the other screens that I've recently seen my pics on. Turns out, that last season I was making my original images worse in lightroom because my laptop is so washed out/just straight noobishness.

The focus is a bit wonky but the composition is really cool.

I have found a few of them, they are a real neat mushroom and have a pretty fun name too, which makes it easy to remember.

That's the macro filter. Bluish aura just to the right of the mushroom. I think I'll get some extension tubes soon, and see if that doesn't suit me better.
