Would this help?

Well I live in a dry climate and my cakes are bluing before they are getting their first flush, and I think it's prevent all but one of my cakes from fruiting. I tried a humidifier in the room that was on 24/7 and it didn't help. So would a more direct approach work?

your not misting enough, mist when it starts to dry up on the surface and you can do it in a desert

Or could it be OPs SGFC isn't built to spec? Op, You got 1/4in holes every 2 in. All 6 sides. Plus 5in of perlite and lifted off the surface with something jar lids, books w.e.?

O is it every 6" now? 3 weeks ago it was 1/4 every 2". I guess ill have to plug some holes. But yes I built it to spec (as of 3 weeks ago). But I have increased the misting, but still it doesn't seem to help.

If they are too far dried out, they may need to be dunked for a few hours.
That sounds like too much airflow, tape off about 1/3 of those and see if it improves. One of my early SGFC I drilled too many holes and when I taped some back up it helped a lot with humidity

no you are right I mis typed. fixed now. Is the tub lifted off its surface air needs to be able to get from underneath or the perlite doesn't work.
Also as long as you are misting then fanning your humidity is perfect where it matters at the surface of the cake.

Awesome had me worried there haha. Yeah the FC is up about 20 inches from floor. I'll I'll increase how much water I mist with for now on. O what does it mean if there is a small amnt of white fuzz at the base of the stem of the mushroom. Here's some pics I have now

i think your misunderstanding the advise, you need the chamber elevate like putting a jar in every corner just so air can come up from underneathe and through your perlite, the "fuzz"usually says a lack of fae. check to make sure you don't have a bunch of fine perlite clogging your bottom holes

If you don't have the bottom holes then u might as well not have perlite or even use a SGFC.

yeah its standing on top of a right side up laundry basket (on the rim of the laundry basket) don't think that's the prob. But I'll check the holes for fine perlite though. The fuzz is real small though. I'll try to get a macro pic of it later today. I'm fanning 5 times a day, but I might bring that down if the cakes keep drying. As soon as I pick off those fruits, I'm dunking it. Should I dunk the other non pinning cakes fir a 2nd time?

mist until the surface glistens, you will see the color of the verm change, fan after you mist and don't mist until that glisten goes away, you can sit your cakes in a saucer of water for a few hours to replenish some moisture and or pile some wet verm on top, pics always help

In think u should have dunk and rolled because I see no Verm on only one I might be missing a post on here but I read a couple I see no reason for u not rolling in Verm and what cronicr said just put a mound of Verm on top a keep it damp.

Yeah I did dunk it but the only reason I didn't roll, i didnt have any verm to roll with. I'll but some damp verm on top of the cakes today. After the next dunk, I'm going to roll them and get the entire thing rolled. The water sauser things sounds good too.

I put the cake that was fruiting into a saucer of water and the white fuzz soaked up a lot of water and now is saturated with water... was that bad? I would get a pic but can't find my camera.
