Now I'm scared. They pinned me right down to only 400 miles off on me.

At least it got the state right......
-------------------- "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis "I would rather be exposed to the inconveniencies attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it." - Thomas Jefferson

my central office isn't even in the same state as i am. that tool had no chance of locating me.
there is a *nix program, xtraceroute, that does the same basic thing only using a pretty globe and colored lines to show you the location of the host you're tracing. like this, it is not flawless.
if you think about it though, a government agency wouldn't waste time with such a tool. they would call your internet provider directly, give them your ip address, and demand information.
just because that specific script doesn't find your location doesn't mean you're harder to trace. you can be found even using proxies, though this complicates things a little bit.
there is a solution though. do not use the internet if you're paranoid. you will probably be much safer.

Unfortunately, it got mine right. What kind of internet are you guys on? I'm on cable, maybe that has something to do with it considering my ip never changes.

I am on Cable as well, I tried using the util twice, and each time it was different. First I showed up in BC, then in California. I think it just traces back the IP address to you ISP then makes a guess based on a whois lookup.

Recommended to me as better than anonymizer....do this...
Use a proxy server. Chose one from the list of proxies on the site, preferably one close to you, but not too close!!! and then go to tools, internet options, connections, lan settings, then paste the one you've chosen in the box. Using a port of 80 was recommended.
