Hpoo additive to WBS

Hello shroomerites! I just made some WBS jars, soaked them in very light coffee water overnight... and, before I PC'd them, I added roughly a spoonful of composted cow shit, and a tsp of gypsum to each of them... has anyone ever used poo in their WBS jars before?
Curious to learn of others' experiences with the addition of manure!

Manure is a bulk substrate ingredient because it's far less nutritious than grains. This is why we use much larger substrates when manure or compost is used then if cakes or cased grains are used. It's best to keep grains undiluted. In addition, the manure could make it harder to shake the grains later. The coffee and gypsum are good though. RR

I added some chicken shit to my soak water in an attempt to boost nitrogen levels for my edible bags. The spores haven't germinated yet so I can't say for sure if it helped at all yet.

From what I've read composted shit works just fine... Anyway, I saw a post suggesting to add some manure to the soak, in some form of nylon tea-bag type configuration... but it was after the fact, and I am planning on making some pan-cakes hehe... soon... so, I thought if shit in a jar works so well for them, fuckit ... It's only a spoonful anyway!

the composted stuff will grow mushrooms but only because you have grain to go with it, it basicly acts as a water reservoir for your mycelium but trust me if your gonna do bulk manure subs get field aged manure not bagged composted stuff

I am gonna do bulk... I've got 15 kg's of coir, and 60 lbs of Hoffman's "dehydrated" manure, which I read on here works very well... I wrote that it was composted, because it has no smell whatsoever, and it feels moist, not dehydrated... but it does have shit-chunks in it... w/e... my bulk recipe will do just fine regardless, I'm sure.
BTW, thank you for the input RR, I got the coffee soak and gypsum pointers from your notes
Keep me updated Sgnt Pepper, would like to know how it turns out for you... chicken shit seems like it would be a good additive to your soak...

Can do, I haven't seen any growth yet, but it was only 3 cc's in like 6 quarts of substrate.
