If weed makes you feel that way, I suggest that you don't consume cannabis. Either you're highly sensitive to cannabinoids and/or your tolerance is extremely low.
I've felt those negative adverse effects from my cannabis use, but the effects subsided after a couple months. IMO, this was due to my body raising the equilibrium tolerance threshold of cannabinoids.
You should try some high CBD strains(it has a high affinity to provide a synergistic effect when taken with THCa). Indica or indica dominant strains are prominent with CBD levels. They make my feet feel comfortably numb

Might be because you don't smoke very often. If you smoke several times a day for a few months you will eventually most likely lose that super intense high feeling and just be nice and relaxed.... First couple times is awkward as fuck trying to hide being high in front of people, or at least act "normal".

I have a friend who shows quite a lot of signs and can seem a little psychotic at times. I keep an eye on her without telling her what I think because I wouldn't want to 'plant seeds' or worry her in general. Once we took somme MDMA at a rave and got high afterwards and she spoke about 'everything building up to this moment'. And how certain things we were saying were like signs for things. That night got pretty scary at times, hard for me to take what she was saying in after 1/2g mdma, 3 joints and a decent amount of ketamine lol.
All due respect I know i'm not a psych or a therapist which is exactly the reason I suggested he go see one. If it is truly nothing to worry about -a psych would confirm this...
TH: If these people dont exhibit these symptoms while not under the effect of "__insert substance__" and if the thoughts, ideas, didnt seem to correlate with ordinary reality, and they realize it especially, then I definitly dont think it wise to jump to the conclusion that these people are exhibiting traits/early signs of schizophrenia. Look up effects of said substances on erowid...... anxiety and paranoia are there. It doesnt give much detail however.
If you research reports of people on these substances you will notice that these types of experiences are not that uncommon. I personally have experienced them multiple times of cannabis and occasionally on psychedelics.
I think tapping in to that aspect of the mind, as irrational as it may be, is part of the therapeutic potential of these substances. It allows an indvidual, therapist, whoever to experience to some extent what it is like for individuals with different psychological abnormalities. It helps one to relate. But... that doesnt mean the person who experienced these effects in non ordinary states of consciousness influenced by psychotropic substances is going to be stuck or even more susceptible to these mental conditions during there ordinary waking life.
Psychotropic substances have a half life, and they can open doorways to the mind, but for the MAJORITY of people with moderation and family history in mind, you wont get yourself somewhere you dont come back from.
