Tyvek envelope lasting power

I used to use polyfill for my jar filters. Decided to use tyvek envelopes awhile back. Just kept the polyfill in the holes, and put the tyvek over top of that so that the ring goes over top of the whole package. Seems to work fine...at least it did for a couple of runs. Been noticing some contams in my spawn jars lately. They'll colonize beautifully, but then right as they become 100%, there's a small dusting of blue in random spots. I'm pretty sure it's not bruising. It's pissing me off because it'll look like they're perfect, and then If I look close, there's the bastard blue.
So I'm just wondering if the tyvek envelope method only works for a little while before the heat from the PC breaks it down?
In the meantime I'm about to order SFD's, take the poly out of my lids, and silicone a quarter sized patch over the existing holes. But yeah, any advice from tyvek experienced growers will be appreciated. Thanks.

I think a lot of people use painters tyvek/kite tyvek rather than post office tyvek. With polyfil in your lids (assuming it's done right and tight enough) if you're seeing contams it's not because of the lid.

I should mention that my agar plates are always looking great, and I work in front of a 36X24 flowhood with what I'm sure is very careful sterile technique.

Tyvek envelopes are not suitable to get consistent results because they're so thin. The pore size changes under the heat stress of sterilization, causing some pores to close and others to open wide enough to allow contaminants to enter.
Use tyvek suits which are thicker, or polyfill. Even better are synthetic filter disks. RR

Thanks RR, that's what I suspected. I've just placed an order for Synthetic Filter Disks.
