plates and shot glasses with brf and verm

So today was going to be the day I receive my fresh spores from good old usps... too bad those fuckers were not careful 2 of my syringes came completely apart inside of the Ziploc they were sent in and a couple others had some of the solution depressed into the caps.
Needless to say I was pissed. But I took some pics and I'm going to be letting the sender know what's up maybe they'll be kind enough to replace them.
Anywho in anticipation for their arrival I readied some jars of brf substrate and threw them in the pot to do their thing. I had a bunch of sub left over so I decided to get frisky lol.
Basically I took what was in the bag, approximately a syringe worth(don't know where the rest went lol) and I mixed it around in the sub (prob 2-3 cups worth) I filled up some small cups and a shot glass which I proceeded to cover with tyvek and then foil with some holes in the foil.
With what was left I took a plate out of the cupboard and spread the sub on it and threw it into the Ziploc that the spores came in and put all this stuff in a closet. (Don't worry its a different one from where my jars will be far away to be sure since these aren't sterilized).
I'm pretty excited to see what happens I figure because of the small surface area and the massive quantity of spores that I dumped in there they should colonize pretty quickly hopefully fast enough that no contams get to them if not no harm no foul.
When life gives you lemons, paint that shit gold.
P.S. I put a dry verm layer on the cups and shot glass not that it matters too much since its not sterilized... I figured the plate didn't need anything over the top of it since its just sitting in a bag anyway..

Probably slower....
I wouldn't get your hopes up, but you might get some clean colonized cakes out of it. If that ziplock bag was fairly aspetic you might have a chance. I would of gone with less of the spilled spore solution though.
Didn't have anything left at all in the syringe? Even a bit and you could of done a single cake then spore printed any fruits that came of that. Bam brand new spore syringe.

Well I ordered 10 syringes and only 2 of them were totally dumped, I really didn't need to scrounge for it lol.
I actually just got done inoculating the cakes that were on the stove while I was doing this. They were done with one of the full spore syringes and placed in a closet in a different part of the house.
Also, why would more spore solution colonize slower?

I would just worry that it would throw off your moisture content.

ahhhh yeah I didn't think about that. too much moisture makes it more likely for contams to grow and harder for the mycelium to spread because it makes everything more compact right?

Will do for sure! Btw when I do that should I post them to this thread or do people normally start a new one?
I'm not particularly internet savvy, I'm good at finding information and that's about it lol. I ask because I see people comment on how old posts are all the time when people decide to post something under them.

Paint that shit gold brotha lol. If its a success, +win+knowledge. If it fails, you still get +knowledge.
and FUCK USPS. they can suck a fat one, always botch my shipments. Haven't had any damaged items but they always forwarding my packages and returning to sender and stuff. Just stupid how much they suck, and UPS/FedEx rock shipping like Professionals. sorry off topic shipping rant.
something else... besides the moisture content, depending on where you are and whey the spores came from they would have also been more susceptible to temperature variances, maybe those two that exploded partially froze causing the water to expand and pop open the syringe? I just smoked so I might be thinking too creative there.
Anyway science projects are always fun, you never learn unless you try ha.
And post results here. People only get mad when you resurrect a thread thats been dead for like a year or something. unless its an ongoing hot topic. Id honestly like to see more people finish posting results, seems like a lot of people say that then never do lol

so these are the pups i was talking about. this is in a sep closet from my main grow and it's also in a sep closet from the damned plate...
i opened up that bag just a bit ago and it smelled like rotten eggs, hadn't even begun to colonize from what the eye can see. i'm assuming the poor fucker lost out due to no fae.
good thing that big jar, the cup, and the shot glass have tyvek and foil
so far so good, i will be posting progress as it occurs.
btw if these babies do make it w/out contaminating i was thinking of just fruiting them straight from the containers. but they all have a layer of dry verm over the top of them so should i take that off once they are matured or just leave it and spray?
cant find much on invitro with brf cakes for some reason.
