Hello fellow Shroomerites and Happy New Year (Belated), I hope everyones was safe & fun.
So I haven't been on in awhile I did a BUNCH of G2G in October (Journal) and I had jars enough for 6 monos.. the g2g was waaaay too wet and I'm still tryin to figure out why because i've never had that bad of a problem w/ moisture levels.. i think it being g2g maybe had something to do with it b/c when i say standing fluid i mean ALOT! I lost most jars salvaged enough for 2 tubs (3rd gen g2g spawn.. it was gettin weak) and they came out good but oddly also. I have never seen such a thick flush since i've been doing this.. I got 14 dry oz from 2 66qt tubs 5qts grain spawn each, which for me, is a shitload.. comparatively i'da gotten that from 3 tubs so i'm stoked on that. Gotta get more spore syringes b/c i'm out of innoculant my lc's are abysmal failures and i don't like working with them, i wanna learn agar this year (shroomery resolution for the year!) and get everything down pat. I feel like as a beginner (july-ish) I've done well and am only doing better except for losing all those jars but I see that there's a learning curve and it happens to everyone at some point so it is what it is.d

Congrats on you flushes We all have to toss jars once in a while, I'm pretty sure I'll probably toss about 10 today that I think are bad (they were G2G'd from the same master jar) I shook them up right away this morning, sniffed the lid and they did not smell of fresh mushies Agar work is actually a lot of fun, and not as scary as you'd think, it can just be a lot of work testing and storing different strains all the time, so don't overdue it right off the bat unless you have all the free time in the world. I learned that one the hard way, lol.

Sending good vibes your way p, and good luck with your agar and future grows. I am just stepping into agar myself.

Though you may have lost some grains, you certainly gained knowledge. Agar is a great way to ensure that you are working with clean cultures first and foremost. coincidentally it is a great way to isolate genetics.
Did you happen to take any prints from your last grow? That would negate the need to ever order a MSS again. Once you start into agar, and have ONE single fruit the sky is the limit on what you can accomplish without ever needing help from the suppliers again.
I am new at this also, but I feel that no matter how much you learn, there is so so soooo much that you realize that you don't know. I started doing no-pour agar probably 4 months ago, and it coupled with the SAB has reduced contamination from ALL OVER EVERYTHING to nothing. I have not seen one baddie since the changeover. My edibles are flourishing as well because of this.
Congrats and good vibes!

Bacterial contamination.
Congrats on the great flushes you did get though!

Thank you everyone!
Whippy - That's incredible b/c I experienced such a high rate of bacterial contams with open air g2g.. i'm thinking a simple SAB (Definitely would love to buy one of the LFH's from a member who has a few brand new extras but still it's 700$ that i don't have) would reduce this rate greatly considering I try to be as clean and careful as possible when working with any type of spawn.
I appreciate everyone's input, thanks! This is why I love this little community
