Well, obviously it is the same as laugh, or slough. But, drought just refuses to appear like it should be pronounced "draft"

Good one. When I see draught (rarely) I think of some witch brewing a potion in a foggy forest.
The word ends with t and has always made me want to pronounce it like Drott.
Carousel bothers me.

THIS! And the SAE (southern american english) bothers me immensely! Proper grammar and English is possible no matter where you are from.

I second the words "anus" and "masticate".

For all of you taking Spanish classes, be sure to put the tilde over the n in the words año/años, because the word ano means anus. I can't tell you how many papers I've read that began, translated into English
"My name is X, I have twenty anuses" (Me llamo X, tengo veinte anos).
Word will not necessarily autocorrect this word for you even in Spanish since anus is a word. It might. It seems to do it sometimes for me but not others.

Mainly just the deep southern accent.
I accelerated in english/reading. I see no reason for improper speaking/writing, unless it's for fun or to pun things. To use improper language just because one thinks it is cute and/or oblivious to the way it really sounds is just sad.
There was a springer clip I was watching once and the girl kept on saying "them dugs" (referring to dogs). When springer finally asked her what "dugs" was she goes "alright dogs then!" yelling it and pronouncing it correctly. She was purposely saying in a way she thought was cute/funny/whatever.
The perpetuation of ignorance is what I can't stand.

Obnoxiously southern accents usually bother me (but it's really cute with some kids), and the level of annoyance typically correlates with the length of the drawl.
I hate it when some people basically utter the same sound for tire, tower, and tar.
More words:
aneurysm Bastille voyeur
