so continuing my digging around.
most of the time i feel like im in standby and procrastinating and not doing much at all.
some days is like a switch where i get all the dhit done that i needed to to for a while. mostly when the deadline is right around the corner.
essays, homeworks, presentations. registering for classes, filing out paperwork you name it. i do it at last second.
i would procrastinate for a month or 3 ad be really stressed out because its always on my mind that i need to do this thing.
then a day before i get it done in like an hour and then wonder. wtf why couldnt i do this before and save myself alot of stress...
never works , i always end up doing it last second.
but the strange part is. when i do get in that super focus state im not stressed out im so focused on whatever i need to do that i shut off everything else around me. the rest of the world just kinda fades in and out.
it doesnt appear very often only when i really really have no time left and getting high brings that state where i can focus but it only lasts for short time.
is that normal or what is goin on? anyone has something similar goin on?

Basically if your thought:action ration is not optimal(too high), then you queue up mental inertia for the tasks. I think procrastinating makes your brain feel good/highish.
But doing a somemore each day helps. Better than all or non IME.

Definitely just a lack of discipline.
You could harness the ability to use this focus constructively, rather than relying on a deadline to bring it up.

I do this too. It's such a bad habit that I cannot fix no matter how hard I try. You end up doing whatever you have to do because you have to do it or you'll face consequences. And you tell yourself you don't want to face those consequences so you end up doing it.
Basically you don't have any drive or reason to do your work until absolutely have to do it. If something is due on Friday, and it's Monday night you're like "wtf I have all week to do this why would I get it done now if I don't have to hand it in tomorrow?" At this point even if you tried to do it, the laser sharp focus would be absent because there really is no necessity. The week progresses however and you tell yourself the same thing until it's Thursday night and you're like "fuck....I should have done this at the beginning of the week."
Personally, I get a high off procrastinating and getting a huge project done at the last minute. That "extreme focus" you talk about turns on because it really is do or die for you. Your survival instincts kick in.
In terms of the grade however, whatever grade you get you could be like "haha I got a C+ and I did it at the last minute! Just imagine what I would have gotten if I managed my time...I would have gotten an A for sure!" Perhaps procrastination is the ego's defense mechanism?

pretty much its all systems go when shit hits the fan. like in case of emergencies.
oterwise its energy conserving mode
which is how i operate as long as i remember. the reason is unknown.
but its costing me alot and i cant get rid of it...

Yeah I have the same problem. Definitely a lack of discipline with some drug & technology related escapism in my case. I play it off as enlightenment, living in the moment.
Honestly when I find myself constantly challenged I can always preform, but after a while it does wear me down. I prefer a slower pace of life, letting things sink in before I react, and not being forced to the fickle wills of the authorities I encounter. That is difficult to maintain in this day & age.
