Here's a couple pics:
The left is an Elm log, the right is a Pluerotus pulmonarus log. The Elm was inoculated two days earlier

Here is a much older Elm log. No green mold but clearly contaminated and earthy smelling, fruiting mostly behind the plastic after only 70 percent colonized

I did some more Elm bags on the 3rd. Generally they'd be mostly colonized by now, and while they look better, they are still lagging the AX and I'm not super hopeful. Again, I've NEVER had elm logs look this bad with heat pasteurization.

That was exactly my experience with the Elm and Lime. Rips through heat treated, hates lime treated. Ditto a mother culture of Yellow M2502. What's your sub, mine is compressed straw logs so in effect they have already been heat treated.

i'm glad i'm not the only one that had trouble with yellow oysters. it kind of makes sense, otherwise the lime bath would be too good to be true

What is your spawn ratio? Have you tried increasing it?

Of what Elm or Yellow? In both cases the spec ratio is 2-3% I spawn minimum 5-7% unless trying something outside of the normal boundaries of the culture which this should not be according to the strain supplier. I grow commercially (125kg/week) so I cant afford to be running a 20% spawn ratio!

I don't know man. It should be working. Did you get the culture straight from Aloha? I too grow commercially so I understand the importance of not wasting money.

I have a green thumb on one hand and a white thumb on the other
My Elm culture isn't from Aloha , so probably not a good one to compare it to, I reckon
If any of my cultures weaken for any reason, it's time to go back to spores on agar to isolate a stronger P-1 generation mono-culture
If I paid $200 for a lifetime guaranteed slant IMO Aloha would be the first place I'd call to find out what was up with a poorly performing specimen

Solarity, what was your soak time? Did you use detergent?
I'm going to hit up aloha on Monday and see what they have to say about it. I'm commercial too and this is affecting the bottom line the last few weeks
