I've been watching some talk around Jones, one a panel with five hw's including the old Hammer, Blaydes, Mir, Stipe, and DC. One thing Mir said that clicked with me is if Jones at hw can kick like he did a lhw, he will be very dangerous, his constant touching with low front kicks and the oblique - he's often throwing something like every five seconds controlling distance and setups. He will probably be going first at first, and then you see Gane coming right back with the lightning jabs etc. A question is who will control distance on the feet. Then another panel with DC and lhw's who fought him, A Smith, Rashad, and Reyes. Some great insights from those who know him the best, and we still have no idea what will happen.

I like the break down from Mexican MMA - good footage too.

Listening to the crowd chant “Garry” is reminding me of my hookie days in high school, sitting in the couch watching Jerry Springer. Good times. Really clean left hook from Song in the first wow sat Garry down. That was textbook flush on the chin. Anyone else watching this?

I really am wondering if Jon will be able to deal with Gane’s movement and gas tank.

It may be Gane has that and can succeed, but there is such a discrepancy in the experience and craftiness of Jones in the whole game. I'm back and forth, but again with Jones showing Gane's lack of dimension.

I totally agree with you. I think in the grand scheme of things, Jone’s championship experience will pay massive dividends.

I’m surprised yo… stoked for the main event though. Rogan was right, Grasso jumping on her back after the spinning kick was hella impressive.

Damn… That was it… There is definitely a reason why they call him the goat.

I hate to keep asking “who you got” but I’m looking ahead. I can see Jones going through Stipe with relative ease. So, that leads Sergei up next. 5 fight win streak, all KOs, all first round I think. Jones is going to have his hands full with that Russian monster.
I look forward to seeing Jones with Stipe to kinda see how he does with his wrestling against Stipe but I’m just sitting here thinking about how Jon is going to handle the raw power the Russian has.
Y’all think Jones beats Pavlovich if that fight happens? If so, how? What would you think is more likely? Nap or tap?

Sergei has been scary for sure but again it will be a question of grappling against Jones. I don't see any submissions in his pro history but his background is sambo. If Blaydes can take him down before getting nuked we may learn something about his grappling. Actually Overeem TKO'd him with GNP on the ground in 2018.
Also I wouldn't sleep on Stipe against Jones in the style match up.

I’m gonna have to rewatch Stipe vs Ngannou. I just feel like Ngannou wasn’t that great of a wrestler and he still was able to overcome Stipe’s skills. Albeit with a strike, I do feel like Jones could submit Francis.
I foresee a similar fight to last night personally when they share the octagon.

Wait, Jones doing to Stipe what he did to Gane? I think their grappling will be nullified and it will be a striking match. Stipe's got great striking though he ate that Ngannou bomb. Plus he's 40 now. His chin may be compromised after DC and Francis KO'd him - still he has the most title defenses at hw.

Stipe fought Ngannou twice - the first Stipe won the decision by controlling him. The second, Stipe is funny - he came out like he just woke up from a nap and was checking the mail or something, run's into Ngannou's hook.

Actually I watched the second fight again - Stipe got fairly beaten by Ngannou.

Agreed bro. I think if Jon Jones beats Stipe and Sergei, I mean, his goat status will be even more cemented.

Happy to see Dricus beat Brunson, also a good win for Cameron Saaiman.
