Yea 217 was awesome. Three belts changing hands in dramatic fashion. The first title fight was over in one round by KO (we never got to see Jo's "surprise" last night). The second title fight was over in two rounds by KO (TJ got saved by the bell in the first, he was toast). And motha fuckin GSP put Bisping to sleep in the third round after 4 years off (Bisping sliced Pierre's shit all up from his back tho)
And did anyone catch the St Preux Knockout? Damn. He needed that KO for the win cause he was down.

Rose Namajunas: I'm close to cracking Joanna's code from 11-2. What will it mean to you to get your hand raised on Sat? - I don't even know honestly. I'll find out though.

One of the most action-packed TUF Finale cards I have seen in years. I didn't think someone would tap out to a calf-slicer in the UFC. As far as I understand, it's a pain submission but does not damage tendons and ligaments like most leg locks.
It's a crime that Ryan Janes vs. Andrew Sanchez did not get bonus money. For sure that is one of the top 5 most insane comebacks of all time, maybe ever.
I have a feeling if a top 5 strawweight goes up to flyweight, they will steamroll Nicco Montana (or anyone in the top 5).

I would definitely agree with everything you said, both Karolina and Joanna were talking about moving to 125 and that only spells doom for poor Montana

GSP vacates the middleweight title due to TKO via chronic bloody diarrhea (colitis, ulcerous). And probably other reasons too.
Dana White is "super pissed" and people think he's got the right of way.
I have abso-fucking-lutely zero sympathy for the UFC and the cockingsucking president's reddened, fat, bald head. What a lying puddle of shit- Diva White.
The UFC digs its own promotional graves by shifting to wack "money fights" instead of promoting divisions, champions, and contenders. Hardcore fans were rightfully scratching their head when they booked Michael Bisping vs. Dan Henderson and rolling their eyes at Michael Bisping vs. GSP.
Bisping "wins" a decision against an old man and then gets finished by two welterweights in a row. GSP vacates because he's looking after his health and career, two things the Dana White/UFC couldn't care less about with their non-McGregor/Rousey fighters. GSP also stated he's not interested in pulling a Bisping or a McGregor and holding up a division. Good man.
Luke Rockhold said it perfectly:

Invicta tonight. And a UFC Fight Night tomorrow that's devoid of hype. Looking forward to both.

So what the fuck happened to Misha Cirkunov? He was looking like the hottest prospect in the light heavyweight division. Gets flatlined by Volkan in under a minute and tonight looked like a white belt on the ground with old Glover.

Seriously. I was hyping this dude up as the next big thing in this division and then like you said, he goes out n gets embarrassed two fights in a row. Glover has power, yes. But he’s slow as DIRT, I don’t know how he continues to pull off these wins!!

They really need to focus more on a proper structure. The money fights ruin the integrity of the sport.

I know I'm not the only person counting down the days until Miocic vs Ngannou. I wonder if it will last longer than the first round.

I get excited for just about every UFC event, but besides the two title fights, the whole of UFC 220 is exclusively fights that only hardcore fans will care about. The event is essentially riding on the Francis Ngannou 1st round KO hype train.
It is loathsome when the UFC's marketing blatantly favors one fighter over the other. The promotional tactic, in and of itself, creates undeniable biases in the betting lines and public opinion about the skill level of the fighters.
While I do believe this fight represents Miocic's biggest 1st round risk, especially since he's shown himself to be hittable, he is undeniably a much more tested fighter. And he's fought intelligent gameplans against many opponents who were believed to have a huge advantage in one area or another.
Love Ngannou, rooting for Stipe, but not betting on either.

UFC essentially wants Ngannou to win so they can break into the untapped African market. Yes, he’s a beast but Stipe is also on a five fight win streak all with ko’s coming in round one. I’m not a Stipe fan but I even wonder why this organization continues to badmouth and under promote their champions/biggest contenders, lol.

In the early years, Dana White did so much to build the company that his influence and ownership has allowed his horrible personality to run amuck in public relations. It's unbelievable and digusting how many UFC champions, let alone fighters in general, he has publicly feuded with.
His public relations approach only works because MMA is such a fringe sport. If it were mainstream like football, I suspect he would have been out on his ass years ago. Probably around the time he was still openly calling people 'faggots.'
On a side note, I am well aware that this the 20th 'fuck Dana White' post I've made. I love the sport and respect the fighters, so it's just fucking depressing to see this attention whore of a UFC president make his own contemptible, dishonest personality and brand more important than these incredible athletes.

Yeah I agree Dana white is an idiot and in a lot of ways holds the ufc back with the way he acts also I just don’t know what ngannou going to do when he’s on his back . I can’t believe they didn’t make him fight a more decorated grappler just feed him glass chined stand up fighters

I don’t know if it comes down to all of Ngannou’s opponents having glass chins (as some definitely have), or is this beast of a man possesses so much power that the second he touches you it’s over. People like Ngannou, who five years ago was homeless and had no mma training, are HUNGRY. Yes, Stipe is a champion n I’m sure he’s hungry too, but the mindsets are diffferent and I believe Ngannou wants this more.
Society, have you ever watched the documentary with dana’s Mom? If you haven’t you should YouTube it. If you think he’s a piece of shit now it gives you some more insight on the monster that he has become over the years. She publicly trashed and disowns him.

So Yamasaki's stoppage of Shevchenko vs Cachoeira was bad, but really only half the problem. It is an disgrace to the UFC that the match was ever made. You don't put a promotional newcomer against someone coming off a close split decision loss with the champ.
