huh? in the last 6 years he's lost to Barao, Aldo, and Edgar. All top 5 fighters with Aldo and Edgar being mentioned as some of the best ever. He's 37 and would STILL compete with everyone in the top 5.

How so? It broke financial records and brought more attention to the sport. Even the PED press with Jon and Brock is showing that the organization is serious about creating and maintaining high standards.

It only shows they are serious about selling PPV's, have dirt fighters, and ultimately deliver shitty cards, all while making special exemptions for Brock including paying him vastly more than their in house fighters.

Man, it is a shame that these guys are getting busted, but society is right. It speaks volumes to the integrity of the sport. These are the super stars that are going down, and if there is one thing that I hate, its when people cheat to get to the top and bask in the glory of it. People like Lance Armstrong piss me the fuck off with all of their "super human abilities". I am interested in what the human being is capable of, not what science is capable of.

MvP sure put a hurting on Cyborg last night.
He actually caved in the forehead of Santos. The picture(s) are gruesome. Hopefully he makes a full recovery (doubt he will ever fight again). It looks like it could be a career-ender.
His pokemon finshing move was a first.

What did everyone think of Brock popping hot? I don't get it. He had the exemption, was tested 6 times I think pre-fight? And still came up dirty. And against Mark Hunt, I don't think he needed it.
I am thinking it was a one-and-done thing for the 2.5 million he got paid.

The UFC is a joke, they pay Brock more money for a non title fight than they pay their own champs for title fights. He used PED's and came up dirty, but they don't care. It's basically the new WWE so ultimately it doesn't matter.

I don't pretend to know much about the UFC but the Lesner thing will hurt. On the other hand they always have new people coming up.

Rarely do you ever find out the truth behind these drug violations. Everyone has an excuse when they get popped. Occasionally, it seems legit. Tim Means claims he got tainted supplements and there was pretty strong evidence to back this up. However, quite a few fighters have made the tainted supplement claim without the same strength of evidence.
In the MMA's brief history, it developed a well-deserved reputation of fighters using drugs. It's just another component of ill repute that the UFC has fought against in an uphill but successful battle towards gaining mainstream acceptance and credibility as a combat sport. Hence, they have adopted WADA/USADA standards and, as I understand it, is far stricter than NFL, NHL, NBA, and MLB.

All those major sports cheat like crazy. I'm not sure about hockey, but it's not so major. I actually have more sympathy for people in the combat sports cheating than I do in baseball or basketball. In the other sports they are out there to hurt each other, so maybe their motivation is just to heal faster and come back. In baseball it's more these guys who make a mockery of Babe Ruth and Henry Aaron's HR records.

The motivation is to cheat and gain an advantage you otherwise would not have vs your opponent, also to make more money. The irony is most of them drop dead from organ failure eventually from hgh and steroid use.

You think they would have hit the same amount of home runs against all the doped up (and much more talented) pitchers in the late 90s?
The answer is no, they wouldn't have.

Now Brock has been confirmed to have failed the testing taken the day of the fight too. So he pissed two hot samples before and on the fight day.
