He won every round but Saenz was getting the better in some of those exchanges. Prime Uriah would've massacred him.

lol goddamnit. I had my money on McGregor- I just prayed it wouldn't be embarrassing for Aldo. Jose Aldo is pure class. It was really sad to watch.
Also, fuck Yoel Romero. I've been saying this for his past several fights. He and his corner are flagrant cheaters. They live by the mantra "it's legal the first time you do it!"
Fuck Yoel Romero. And he might beat Luke Rockhold.

Yoel Romero is actually an exciting fighter when he's active, but there's to much feinting n circling with him. Him n jacare threw a combined 15 punches that second round. There was literally NO action the entire round. I don't want a champ who's content on sitting back, waiting for a power punch that never seems to come.
But yes, dude is a cheater.

if it was ronda rousey it would be a rematch, but its aldo so it's actually a deserved rematch, which means he won't get the rematch

If they don't give aldo a rematch, that's the biggest crock of shit ever. Ronda got beat down for 2 straight rounds before getting KTFO. Aldo lost a fight off of the first punch thrown, went undefeated for 10 years and was the ufcs ONLY featherweight champ. N this is coming from a Conor fan. If they gave Ronda a rematch, and barao a rematch after that massacre that killashaw put on him, Aldo without a doubt deserves a rematch.
I don't wanna see Frankie Edgar as champ. No way. I do think he would smother Conor for five boring rounds and win a decision, although if gray Maynard was lighting up Frankie like that, I truly believe Conor has what it takes to turn his lights out. It would be interesting. Conor brings life to this division. No one has any charisma outside of him.

The difference between Rousey and Aldo is the competition of the division. The FW Division is full of monsters whereas the womans division is not. Of course you give Rousey the rematch because there is no other competition in the division. Edgar on the other hand has won 5 straight, is a former Lightweight champion, and just knocked out Mendes in the 1st round for the #1 contender fight. There is no one in the womans division even close to that, so the comparison isn't fair.
One thing to consider is the new PED testing. Steroids are a big part of Brazilian athletic culture. Belfort, Silva, Aldo, and Barao have all fell off since the new testing went into effect. Both Barao and Aldo were undefeated and seemed unbeatable, but in their first fight under the new policy they're both KO'd easily. Coincidence? Perhaps but it's something to consider. My guess is that Edgar and Aldo will be fighting for the FW belt at the end of 2016 and Conor will be at LW by that point.

the competition arguement is a non factor because they gave all the other long time champs, and even some short time ones, rematches right away, and in those other divisions there was plenty of others who deserved a shot, or at the least made more sense. look at cain, he got beat soundly, and only defended his belt a few times, his title reign is one of the weakest and there's a shitload of people that id rather see fighting for the title instead of him.
Plus here's the other thing, if womens MMA is so shitty that there's nobody else worthy of fighting holms, then why oh why are they forcing her to wait to fight ronda? why not feed her one of the shitty cans in the meantime to build up her champion status while ronda crys and eats icecream for a year. im not disagreeing that WMMA is really shallow, but there are people, other than ronda, that would at least be interesting to see how they match up against holm.
ive been saying the same thing about all those champs, they've all took long layoffs, most likely faked injurys, or lost since the stricter testing. weidmen looked alot slower as well, he claimed he lost bulk because of the IV ban but i question if it was the rehydration part, or the lack of being able to cheat part.
anyways its kind of interesting that nobodys gotten busted recently, surely there are people still trying to cheat

Barao has never fought under the new testing policy so I doubt that has anything to do with his losses to dillashaw.
Also, meisha Tate could have been given the title shot against holm. To say that there's no viable matchups in that division is crazy. Meisha has been on a roll lately and has FIRMLY cemented herself as the true number one contender.
Also, Raphael assuncao is on a 7 fight winning streak. He could have EASILY been given the title shot over barao but they did the rematch.
I see what you're saying but there are realistic matchups to make in each division, so I have to disagree.

Damn, that fight felt like it was wayyy before the new testing policy, guess I was wrong.
Regardless, still has nothing to do with the first beatdown he received from dillashaw, lol.

That shit was crazy. Who would have thought that Connor's quickest work would be done in his first UFC title fight?
And Rockhold fucked Wideman up, I don't know if anyone had mentioned that yet. Very thorough.

2015 really has been quite a year for new champions. DJ and TJ are really the only champions who've retained their belt for longer than 12 months at this point. Well, and Robbie Lawler by 12 months and a couple weeks.
New champions in 2015 descending ordder by weight: -Fabricio Werdum -Daniel Cormier -Luke Rockhold -Rafael dos Anjos -Conor McGregor -Holly Holm -Joanna Jedrzejcyzk
Kinda neat. I'm curious as the stats on new champions for previous years. UFC has more weight classes than ever now, so I'd be a little surprised if another year topped it.

Yo, I feel for Dominick Cruz. The dude has the worst luck with injuries outside of Thiago alves.
But I've grown to like Cruz. If you listen to his interviews, he's extremely intelligent and talks a lot about life struggles, the dude is wise. Hoping for a Cruz victory tomorrow night.
Hoping pettis wins tomorrow impressively and hopefully Conor beats rda. Pettis vs Conor would be a sickkkk fight.

I lean towards Cruz, but he's only fought once in the past several years. Given his injury streak, it's difficult to imagine him as a longstanding champion. But who knows?
That being said, while he is very intelligent and analytical, he seems excessively douchey to TJ Dillashaw. Even if he's attempting to build up the fight and get in the opponent's head, it just seems awkward when Cruz is talking trash.
