Props to aldo for staying in the fight after getting injured. Even though Dana probably bribed him with an extra $250,000, i respect this

id be a bit suspicious still, it sounds almost like they said to him, just give it some time and maybe you'll heal fast and you can pull out later if you want.

I personally think McGregor will have a harder time with Mendes than with Aldo.

Fighters regularly go into fights with injuries, but these tweets encapsulate the issue:
"Aldo is injured and his opponent knows the issue. Not a good idea IMO."
"Much respect to Aldo. Hope fighters/camps etc take notice & learn to keep their mouths shut. Most skilled fighter in world in tough spot" -Brian Stann
I'm reading that it's next to impossible to train with bruised ribs. Either way, Jose Aldo is at a tremendous disadvantage- especially because of the media coverage of this. Wouldn't surprise me if he pulled out of the fight. Wouldn't blame him, either. The UFC spent unprecedented amounts confidently promoting an event where this type of thing happens pretty regularly. Shit happens.

that's what I DONT get.
why replace aldo with mendes, when you spent months on a WORLD TOUR, visiting 11 countries, doing insane amounts of press conferences, radio interviews, etc. this is without a doubt the most hyped fight in the history of the ufc and theyre gonna throw in a last minute replacement???? makes NO sense.

aldo's injured, the last minute replacements are if aldo backs out at the last minute, which im guessing he's going to, it seems strange that they would leak his exact injury if there was a chance he was going to actually fight. I get that they have done it with other fighters in the past, weidman for example, but thats because it was typically assumed the injury would be mostly healed. With aldo, its going to be a huge target that will be targeted

I will cry if this fight doesn't happen. I don't care actually I just want to see Conor fight anyone I still feel he hasn't fought enough. He should rematch the guy that beat him, the UFC just recently signed him. I'm a huge conor fan tho I just want to see more. To bad theres really not many fighters at FW

there's plenty of fighters, but they used up all the easy 'protection' fights, edgar would destroy him, which is exactly why he isn't a replacement, dumb WWE type shit because edgar's done more to deserve a shot than corndog has.

joseph duffy is the guy who defeated connor, VERY early in Connors career.
also, connor is relatively unproven in fights against superior competition, but to say he would get destroyed by edgar is crazy. hes untested, but in no way does that mean that mendes, aldo, or edgar would destroy him.
when jon jones was coming up, people said the same shit.
n yeah, featherweight is pretty weak. you have cub swanson whos coming off a brutal loss to max Holloway. holloway whos on a decent win streak, but got destroyed by connor. then theres nik lentz, who was just defeated by Charles oliviera. who actually is probably nearing a title shot with another win or two. Korean zombie is in the military for another year minimum. then theres dennis Bermudez, ricardo lamas, and chad, edgar, and connor. its not a bad division, just not as stacked as some of the others like welterweight and lightweight.

but your looking at it the wrong way, the division is strong, considering those that are left are all corndogs weakness (wrestling). And thats edgar is strong on the ground, if he gets it there corndog is done, its true he might be able to keep it standing up (untested) but i believe way more in edgar than someone whos untested, and by untested i mean protected which means nobody else around him has faith in him either. And its not like corndog is deaf to any of this, if he was an alpha killer like he wants everyone to believe he would say he wanted edgar(if aldo pulls out) to prove himself because what does he prove by fighting anyone without strong wrestling

i don't think you made one single valid point in your entire argument.
where should i start? no one around corndog has faith in him??? that's why his manager n coach are convinced that connor WILL hold titles in the featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight divisions? how can you say conor's "weakness" is wrestling? he took down max Holloway (#5 ranked featherweight) at will with a torn ACL. n you do know his main training partner is gunnar nelson, right? that dude is one of the best grapplers in the ufc, who also fights in the welterweight division. yet, were all SOOOO convinced connor has no wrestling.
this is your quote exactly. "its true he might be able to keep it standing up (untested)" Connors accuracy, speed, and power are all on another level. anyone educated in fighting will tell you the same.
n why would he call out edgar? aldo never dropped out of the fight, so why would he go calling people out when hes fighting for a TITLE? you said, "what does he prove by not fighting anyone with strong wrestling." you do know who chad mendes is right? connor would've been better off calling out edgar. yeah, his wrestling is strong, but he lacks power. chad mendes has the wrestling, the cardio, and the power. i see chad beating Frankie 9 out of 10 times.
give the guy some credit. don't be so blinded by hate my friend.
n btw, im just a passionate guy, not trying to sound like an asshole.
