Me and a buddy who lives together recently decided to start cultivating mushrooms and we wanted to share the process with you. We are cultivating psilocybin cubensis B+ and we have made our own terrariums. the incubated glasses is a daily routine the first day`s of shaking everything loose so we can spread the mycelium, our glasses use about a week to get completely ready since they are breeding and we shake them. We have about 95 cakes growing in 7 large boxes. Everything is automatic light, heat and oxygen so we dont have to do anything during the fruiting. we have light for 12hours and oxygen about 15 minutes every hour, we also have 1 hygrometer per box. we have one demo box up and running now, and the rest is coming in about a week. We are uploding photos so you can see the process and maybe give us some feedback on our method.
Love this site and the psychedelic world peace and love from the shroom guys

Fruiting cakes is never "fully automatic"....you will still need to manually mist and fan the cakes multiple times a day, to promote evaporation, which is a main pinning trigger.
The chamber should be getting constant passive fresh air, not forced fresh air on a timer.
Incubation is not needed unless your temps are below 65F.........Shaking cakes is definitely not recommended, as this will disturb the dry verm layer that is protecting your cakes from contams.
I think you should build a proper SGFC for the cakes and forget about that "fully automated" crap.....unless you like sub par results.
http://www.mushroomvideos.com/Terrarium-Tek
If you want a fully automatic setup, try looking into spawning them to bulk substrate in a monotub.

So there was no dry verm layer on your cakes?
And I understand YOUR setup the way it is is fully automated....but that does not mean it is going to work good.

Don't shake'm no matter what....unless you're doing rye, or WBS, just leave them. No dry verm layer could spell disaster for your 90+ cakes man. You got any myc growth yet? Keep us posted with some pics of your auto setup, and how it turns out

the first cakes that we used for inoculation we shaked everyday for 7 days and we still had to using fucking tools to get the cake apart so we could spread it between other jars so it haven`t really been a problem it grows back together in one day maybe and get stuck like that so we get wery good cakes out of the jars even if we shake them

i'd suggest something like wbs, popcorn is not the best grain choice but it works, it's expensive and the kernels are large so you don't get as much mycelium in your jars or inoculation points

Lmao man it looks a lot more complicated then it needs to be. All's you need is 4 inches of wet perlite in the bottom of a tub that has 1/8 inch holes every 2 inches on all 6 sides, and maybe a light, and room temp around 75. Daily misting and fanning and its perfect.
You probably check on all that stuff more times a day then you'd have to mist and fan and you'd still get better results + use less energy.
Anyways pf cakes are a waste and bulk with wild birdseed or rye grain is where it's at!

Haha! might have gone abit overboard with this project, but on the pluss side, our setup is not that energy consuming and hopefully it will work.
We started out with growing pot and that seems to be harder to maintain than shrooms, that might be why we have gone abit overboard with this. But as i said this is our first grow and both of us enjoy constructing stuff like this :P

Oh yeah it's very enjoyable to experiment and setup something on your own, but I just prefer to go along with methods that have documented proof of working for a lot of people.
When you get into wanting a lot of shrooms and some of the bet ways read some of these teks (:

Looks like ya bought a mercedes before getting your license bro
I hope it all works out for ya....just don't move those jars around if they're cakes man....it will really lower your chances of getting clean colonization. Also, keep your temps 80 or below. Don't go over that, or you'll open the door for contams. I can't really tell from the video, but that one cake, which has no verm on it, looks like it's starving for fresh air...i dunno if it's perlite or aerial myc. Good indication that your FAE is not what you banked on. Can you give us a clear pic?
Also, i think if you want to grow that large of a quantity, then you should go bulk. Cakes are way to much work on that level.
why did you give up growing pot? Pot is not that hard to grow, especially when you get a strain dialed in....it's almost automatic.

no aerial mycelium is something different from the "fuzzy"grpwth that the lack of fae does, i dont think theres ever been a real known answer to y it shows up as it's showed up in all kinds of conditions both good and bad ,ms and isolates but it is known not to harm anything

listen to this guy :-)
seems he know what he is talking about get a SGFC, mist then fan manually as much as you can get time for raise the SGFC of the table , put some feet under so it can get air below, important
I once tried automating my SGFC with an airpump - it killed all my cakes, and that was after successfully growing automating is possible but very hard unless you know what you are doing and take your time with it
dont incubate your jars, put them on a shelf, or in a drawer dont move the jars too much after innoc. you disturb the dry verm layer

I think you need some bigger pumps and some bubble wands if you want to go with hydroton. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/1303334/fpart/1/vc/1 http://www.shroomery.org/9136/Humidifying-FAQ
And maybe some type of wire rack to elevate the cakes off of the hydroton

I don't think that cake looks fine man...it looks like something is growing OVER the verm coating. The verm coating is used to help retain moisture and create a micro climate. Maybe if you monotub those sterilites you have and put a fan in the room you might get better FAE....
How's about posting some close up clear pics of your cakes? I really wanna check'm out....
