Light when colonizing?

So I am sitting on a few dozen jars, all coming along nicely using pf TEK and BRF... About 75% along ... Dry verm layer, lids on with 4 uncovered innoc holes in a dark closet, 75-78 degrees .... I have foil over the trays LOOSELY but not blocking the gas exchange - the thought being is the piece of foil will act as a cover to prevent any airborn contaminants from raining down on the lids if present.
I have been readi colonization being done this way since I subscribed but lately I have seen comments of colonization not in the dark, but in a room with ambient light, and flipping jars - I don't know, it seems to be progressing fine, but should they colonize in light or dark? Those holes. Should be more than sufficient for GE, I would think flipping would be more dangerous than it's worth (ie disrupting the dry verm layer)
78 degrees, lids on tight, 4 uncovered in occultation holes, 1/2 dry verm barrier, stored in a dark closet ... Am I missing anything or is this cool? Just want to do it right

Foil gets removed from BRF cakes after sterilization to help the dry verm layer remain dry.....the dry verm layer is what protects the cake from contams.

Disregard old info that states to colonize in total darkness, ambient/indirect light is beneficial during all stages of growth.

Yea the foil is just a piece draped over the trays, not the tight fitting stuff I used for sterilization, but it get the gist of what you are saying - it's not needed with a dry verm layer - cool
