one of my cakes started fruiting in jar before i could spawn it so i decided to just go with it... i didnt have the equipment necessary to make a sgfc and i didnt really want to make one just for one cake so i decided to use my knowledge to create my own fc... here it is people.
my fc does not supply the mushrooms with a perfect habitat but it does work.
i used verm on the bottom because i didnt have perlite available. to accommodate for the lack of humidity produced by the verm i used less holes than a sgfc would have. i mist and fan once every 2 days to introduce more evaporation..

Just want to know, did you dunk and roll or did the mycelium takeover the rolled verm?
Kudos for having the balls to just try something new!

definitely roll your cakes man, you already got the verm its well worth the little extra time. nice fc man, fruiting chamber doesn't have to be pretty, just functional.

Looks like there isn't anything inbetween the cake and the substrate you are using to hold moisture which isn't the best.
The substrate also looks like verm instead of perlite. Also not so great.
With that being said, even still. Wish my cakes looked like that!

i dont mean to upset anyone on this board by what im about to say.. i find it counter productive to roll my cakes in the conditions i have made for it... verm retains water but a major pinning trigger is evaporation. due to the lack of FAE ive introduced (you can tell by how my cakes have puffed up) i didnt think the verm layer would allow a good pinset so i decided to leave the layer out...
