The video shows the straw looking quite dry, once you dump the water out of the pasteurization bath the straw is really wet, do I have to dry out the straw at all or can I use it as is?

That's about where it's at, I'm just letting it cool a bit now it's still 110F without the water.
Someone should get cronicr a TC tag already! What's up with that?

when I use straw, after its done pasteurization inside a pillowcase, I put it on a rack for 12 - 24 hours, to cool and to drain some, I usually get bad results if I don't.

straw is tricky IME with field capacity. i have only done it with oysters though. pasteurized enough straw (RR method so.. 2 hour soak in water with liquid detergent and hydrated lime, then past at 170 in double lined bucket at 170) to do 2 bags (the kind newspapers delivered in) one bag i spawned right after it came down to 80 degrees, the other i let cool/drip overnight. the one i used right away did not colonize well at all (and these are oysters for god's sake, they like everything) and the other one cooled/dripped overnight did way better

fruits bigger now, that was 3 days ago or so. i have yet to try cubes with straw but i really want to. see if u can PM or get a hold of whippy, he is running some grows now with cubes/straw, and was also concerned about how hydrated the straw should be at time of spawning
