NOMAD 2014
    #19375182 - 01/05/14 10:45 PM (10 years, 25 days ago)

Figured I'd hop in on all the fun   pictures are pointless without people seeing them.  I use a mediocre waterproof point n shoot.  No dslr here boys......(obviously).  Tehehe

Going going back back to pellie pellie

Flammulina cluster...mostly rock hard frozen but beautiful none the less, I didn't have proper lighting boo

Unknown sp.  I was thinking deconica.  Spore print in progress but the caps were in hammered shit condition so I doubt I'll get spores.

Ahhhhh, gotta love The NW.

I found a caterpillar that was being colonized by some type of fungus.  It was dead but there were others around that were healthy and doing just fine so I got a bit excited.  I took the caterpillar home and decided to incubate him and hopefully get it to fruit.  Possible cordyceps sp.?

DID I FIND A CORDYPILLAR? :crazy2:

It would be quite possibly the coolest thing that's ever happened to me next to losing my virginity if it fruited.  :holyfuckdude:

:shocked:Cordyceps:shocked: some have the ability to affect the hosts behaviour!! like making an Ant climb a plant or branch and attach to it before it dies for optimal fungal environment and better spore distribution!! that would be SIC if thats it!!

I'm really hoping its a Cordyceps sp.  as soon as I put it in high RH and a little warmer temps then outside the fuzzy white myc exploded with growth.

Who knew I'd get excited over a dead "moldy" caterpillar. :rotfl:  I fucking love fungus.

Was it near wood or anything like that?
I've seen Schizophyllum mycelium that looks similar to that eating a beetle shell before.

It was not around wood. It was stuck in the track of a door to a pump house I was plumbing in.
